you know better

I never supported him for the simple reason that outsider candidates are always duds... even if they get elected they don't know how to get anything done....

He's a little b|tch because he seemed very bvtthurt about not making it into the second round which meant that without a strong univocal endorsement of Trzaskowski a lot of his uninformed supporters decided to vote for Duda...

If a person can't take an electoral loss (as Hołownia clearly can't) they should stay out of electoral politics.

Its much better to have politicians who have experience of managing political institutions - they know that you have to build coalitions, hear different points of view etc. The sooner the world gets back to professional politicians the better.

TV stars and businessmen don't normally work out well. Reagan is an exception but he had 2 terms as governor of a big state first.

Well that didn't take long....

Antoni Macierewicz (he of the Smolensk fetish) has publicly accused American owned TVN of treason and hinted that it's news division is controlled by commie special services.....

It's clear that PiS wants a situation where independent media cannot contradict or challenge the government....

How much longer before Poland ends up back in Russia's arms?

How many more communist prosecutors do you want appointed to the Supreme Court?

All communists have become Polish patriots after they joined PiS. Accordingly, all communists have become Polish traitors after they joined PO. Can't you see the difference here, you liberal idiot?

Not in the modern world of liquid capital which you prefer (which is why you're in the UK).

Even President Duda's daughter Kinga has followed in Spike's footsteps and moved to London leaving the beautiful country of his beloved father behind her. By the way, in the second round she wanted to vote in Poland together with her parents, but was refused to cast her vote since having voted in the first round in London where she works, she inscribed herself to the list there, but then didn't care to get an appropriate certificate allowing her to vote in another place.

will not be long now before many return to Poland under a strong government led by your president Duda.

You would wish! Some will, but most of them will remain in their new countries of residence for ever. But even if they do, most of them will not vote PiS, I assure you ...

Reagan is an exception

Trump was another one.
Just look what he accomplished in his first year in office before he started getting hounded non - stop.
He made his opposition look bad by accomplishing things at mock speed.
He got things done that the politicians couldn't seem to get done in eight year terms.
The politicians deep swamp was being exposed while Trump drained it.
So I think it is very good to have someone voted in to shake up the good old boys club but Poland wasn't ready yet.

Duda has done a very good job for Poland by keeping Poland's citizens safe.
What other country in the world can claim that besides Japan.
Poland was definitely blessed to keep Duda and his high standards for morality while the rest of the E.U. decays in that area because of the Commie Marxist propaganda brainwashing the youth.

Duda's daughter Kinga

She's also made a lukewarm statement in direct contradiction to daddy's policies.... I'm wondering who she would have voted for had she been allowed...

you must have heard somebody else talking not Hołownia (he fully endorsed Trzaskowski)

Lets not make excuses. Duda won. He won because Trzaskowski did not come out hard enough on some issues. He couldnt get voters to cross over. He was a very well spoken, and bright candidate. He simply didnt have teeth to go directly after hard votes. Poland gets what it deserves, another 3 to 5 years of backward spending government and a continued walk down the path of authoritarian government. So, more old people need to die off before things change. Its life and life moves on. So be it. My pierogi will still taste the same when I get home and my dog will still enjoy walks in planty. Little will effect me as long as I can continue to bring money in from outside Poland. In the end its every man for themselves.

So, more old people need to die off before things change

You may have the point here, so to speak. Today's RZECZPOSPOLITA sums it up in this way:

The president won without a doubt, but only thanks to the gigantic support among the 50+ electorate. The majority of voters between 18 and 49 years old decided on Trzaskowski. [...] Although Polish seniors should be wished for the best health, demographic changes are relentless.

The United Right has to think what reasonable offer should be presented to the younger half of Polish society. Unleashing the political war may speak to young radicals, but in their age group they are in the minority.

Thanks for clarification most dobri brate.

Bdw, mafe, can you imagine scandal in EU when Duda and Orban allow shipment of balistic misliles from Russia to Serbia via Visegrad air space? Oh that would shake entire continent. Can you imagine Ursula's and Merkel's jump on Duda. He would have full hands. By the God, those ladies would sit on him.

You have no clue what will happen in 10 or 15 years. Ppl aged 18-30 may become far-right voters in the upcoming decades. So, you should take more pills before you come up something as dumb as you wrote above.

Exactly.

So be it.

Naturally.

My pierogi will still taste the same

Of course.

Poland survived partitions, occupations, communism etc - there were huge losses but we survived. We shall survive PiS cataclysm too. hahaha

Little will effect me

In 1980s, after the martial law was introduced, many people adopted the attitude called: inner emigration. They cared only about themselves and their families, ignoring the political situation.

But even if they do, most of them will not vote PiS, I assure you ...

Most Polish emigrants in Europe voted for Trzaskowski. In the USA - for Duda.

How much longer before Poland ends up back in Russia's arms?

Such processes take decades. E..g, before the first partition took place in 1772, Russia "had worked" on Poland for over 50 years. But once the avalanche starts., it is too late to stop it.

Most Polish emigrants in Europe voted for Trzaskowski.

Because they profit from the existence of the EU more than Am-Poles?

@KorkiTaczer
People might not exist in that time too. Far right ideals are not going to move Poland forward. They will crash and burn as they always have. The only path forward for Poland is the center, the left is a failed experiment just like the right. The problem is the nut cases on both sides who wont let go of crazy ideas. MAybe its time for you to take your meds now?

@BratwurstBoy, the most profit I will ever make from the existence of the EU is when I bet against € on currency stock exchange right before the inevitable financial collapse of the eurozone. The right timing would be my only concern

"Angela Merkel has secured her place in the pantheon of European statesmanship by agreeing to common EU borrowing"

I wouldnt count on that. Many have already lost a lot of money by betting on the end of the euro since 2009.

You won't make money betting on it the night before - so place your bets now - buy a load of GBP or zloty

What are you waiting for if you are so sure ?

Then you can join Johnny, Dirk, Rich and Dolno in the PF millionaires club :)

That's the trick. Timing is essential. Everyone who thinks they can make money betting on something when that something is obvious to everyone end up as losers.

Johnny, Dirk, Rich and Dolno in the PF millionaires club

Far right ideals are not going to move Poland forward. They will crash and burn as they always have

And right on time... Konfederacja wants the government to declare Georgette Mosbacher persona non grata and for her to be replaced... Is this something they think will work or that most Poles will support?

Or maybe.... they're being used by PiS as informal bad cops?
