Duda will lose there, which means that it could be decided by less than 100,000 votes.

seems like it is a close call!

yes, exactly, a close call!
PS. Isn`t it wonderful we finally reached some consensus??? hahaha

Exit poll - Duda 50,4% Trzaskowski 49,6%!

Don't take exit polls too seriously. They are not, and never were, very accurate.

Before tomorrow there will be no reliable data to comment on. And the official results will be available on 14th and, as usual, will be different by a few % than exit polls.

@Ironside
Indeed. Shows a country divided. Much like the USA and that has not gone well. Regardless of who wins, they need to recognize they do not have a mandate for extremism. Exit polls early had Clinton ahead too. Lets wait for the official count, and then what may be a court challenge by either side.

As the US has learned, whether there is a mandate for extremists or not, once in power, extremists are going to extremes... Unless there is some counteracting force to hold them to account. The US learned this the hard way. Time will tell if the US has had enough yet.

Hmm, now I am surprised. I thought the exit polls after the first round were almost the same as the final results.

then what may be a court challenge by either side.

Yes, I read somewhere: The third round will take place in the Supreme Court.

Yes, exactly, PiS won`t relinquish their authoritarian programme if they win. Free-oriented people mustn`t rest on their laurels.

Almost makes a world of a difference

Yes. :) OK, you were right.

They are not, and never were, very accurate.

It's really a pity that you lie so often on here, Spike.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_2019_Polish_parliamentary_election

IPSOS got it almost perfect in the 2019 Sejm election.

And just to show how Spike and all the others claiming how Bosak voters would always go for Duda, it proved to be wishful thinking, just as we said all along.

twitter.com/notesfrompoland/status/1282401505069477893

Turns out that they split almost evenly and that there was no mass Konfederacja vote for Duda. Why people tried to claim it would be otherwise is entirely beyond me.
Spike31 3 | 1,811
12 Jul 2020 #2,111
@delphiandomine You are amusing. Why would I want to or have to lie? And especially now, after the voting took place? Use your logic, mate.

Here's the 1st round of presidential elections exit polls for Duda: 41.8%

And the official results: 43.5%

When I said that there will be difference between today's exit polls and the official results I obviously meant that Duda will gain few extra % of advantage over Trzaskowski.

how Spike and all the others claiming how Bosak voters would always go for Duda

I've never claimed that.

My post #1,678 from 29 Jun 2020 direct quote (check my post for full info not limited by a quote length):

K.Bosak voters (...) 50% will vote for Trzaskowski ~650 000. 50% for A . Duda so + ~650 000

@delphiandomine, can't you just have a decent conversation without lying about me or any other person you don't agree with? I've got a very good memory, I've told you that already. No point of trying those cheap tricks with me.

Duda will gain few extra % of advantage over

Because some percentage of people who vote for PiS (like you) are too ashamed to admit it publicly.....
cms neuf 1 | 1,806
12 Jul 2020 #2,114
The shame factor is apparently already included in the exit poll calculation in the second round

Will be very close

The regional split is already in however with the predictable result - Duda running up all of his votes East of the Wisla among the old and less educated
Ironside 53 | 12,420
12 Jul 2020 #2,115
hopefully of Duda wins those clowns from total opposition will not whimper and cry and complain about irregularities. Demanding second election or as many as are needed for them to win.

the old and less educated

BS and propaganda. Young people over 50% are voting Konfederacja the rest is evenly split. Strike one!
Strike it has nothing to do with education. In the east there is more farmers and people making an independent living. In the west there a lot of depends on the state welfares or work in Germany.

Partition zones heritage again?

hopefully of Duda wins those clowns from total opposition will not whimper and cry and complain about irregularities

You should have said: alleged iregularities. If there are just irregularities, protests will be fully justified.

In east there is more farmers and people making independent living. In west there lot of depends on the state welfares or work in Germany.

Certain illogical reasoning did I discern here. It they work in Germany, they don`t need welfare so much. It is the East which relies on the dole payments coz job offers are scarcer there. Agriculture isn`t enough to provide them with proper subsistence.

You should look at the exit poll Ironsides it has clear data on education and age

Very close in the US - Duda winning 55-45.

This is the last year the old timers in the Red Apple Buffet will be in the majority - in 2025 it will be Polish bankers in NY and villa owners in Florida that decide the US Polonia vote

Insane news from Split in Croatia: 5-6 hour queue to vote as of 22:00. Polls officially closed at 21:00, but you can vote as long as you were in the queue before 21:00.

Elections so close they will not announce preliminary votes and will only announce final vote late tomorrow or tuesday. Last projection was Duda ahead by 160,000 and thats not enough if accurate and still waiting on the mail in votes.

Then I will congratulate you and all other supporters. I will be happy seeing you happy coz I am a good man, like my father

So, it is time to fulfill my promise. I would like to congratulate all Duda voters and supporters on the victory of their candidate. Rejoice and be happy coz it`s your great day. As I said, I am also glad seeing other people happy.

I am not disappointed, but look into the political future with optimism. Trzaskowski`s result isn`t so bad, it means there are still millions of decent intelligent people in Poland who don`t let liars and manipulators brainwash them with bolshevik propaganda and socialist benefits. .

Long live free Poland! We shall never surrender!

Yes, that`s my motto which will be my guideline for the coming years. I can promise you I will do my best to increase the number of decent intelligent voters before future elections. I will work hard on/with my students to provide them with proper education so that they can distingush authoritarian fraudsters from worthy guys. The polls among voters proved that the decent candidate was chosen by the majority of educated Poles. That is my task to spread that trend and I will not shun it.

And it doesn`t only concern LGBT and other controvercial ideas because they are replacement problems, artificially blown into a maniacal hype by the ruling rightards. . It is primarily economy which matters - hats off to members who noticed it here:

Gays and those issues are nothing. Miniscule issues compared to the economy, infrastructure, business growth, positioning Poland to lead Europe in the future

Yes, economy, fools! was the famous slogan. Right now PiS has spent most of the money on benefits, completely ignoring such branches as small business, health care, education, investment, technologies. We`ll see what it all leads to at the next election.

I suppose the trend from now on is only downhill for PiS. Decent people will prevail one day. To all Trzaskowski` voters and supporters, don`t lose hope and work hard for better freer wealthier Poland.

The bad news is - Duda won.
The good news is - Trzaskowski lost.

Decent people will prevail one day.

Quite right a lesson needs to be learned here constitutional change is require to stop this stupid and expensive second round voting system, first past the post is enough.

The current government has 3 clear years now to put laws and education in place so that people can truly see the dangers of following the downward spiralling path of Germany UK and France.

Long live democracy , long live Poland , The people have chosen.

Loooooosssssseeeers should shut their gobs now

Ok so why can't other conservatives be successful? Why Poles don't recognize K. as an alternative?
