What's the stupidest question asked about Poland?

I'd say if you were to ask random polish people about Japan you wouldn't get many sensible answers either...

Taking into the consideration of knowing where countries are in the world as a MUST at school, and Japan as an known and "respected" country. I wouldn't be surpsied if they said it lies on a Island beteen China and USA wich isn't correct since it's on 4 islands. But heck they know somehow where it is.

Ha ha. yees. I have had such experience:-) JP is far from Poland. Sometime, we cannot recognize the geographic location of countries correctly.

It depends on whether we are interested in it :-). To tell the truth, I couldn't distinguish "Slovakia" and "Slovenia" before coming to Poland:-( I am ashamed that I was.

Neither could Bush distinguish those 2 countries, Raijin.

Bush is sure to have asked a stupid question about Poland. I have to rummage around in the archives for one.

He asked the Brazilian President, "do you have blacks too?". I'm glad I didn't hear that as I'd've needed my sides repaired.

Worst one I've been asked:

"So in Poland, who are the maids and house cleaners?"

Obvious bigotry.

Also, "Was Chopin the guy in Poland who invented vodka, since I saw that vodka with his name?"

EPIC FAIL

Stupidest thing I here often is........."Where is Poland?" From severely geographically challenged individuals.

I have had English people ask me if the Russians still arrest you for taking photo,s , the Russians in Poland that is...I have been asked if they have telivision in Poland , how many people have cars , does it snow all the time...But the most often asked queation is...where is Poland...?...Makes me ashamed to be English...

well i never believed that ppl really ask such questions. Do they? Are they regular ppl???

That's mostly true though, haha :)

Do all Polish men have skinheads?

Polish homophobia and Neanderthal machismo always makes me laugh. Not because I agree with homophobia (I don't), but because you know what they say... those who are the most anti-gay are often the ones hiding a "secret" preference ;)

30 years ago, it was easy to spot gays over here by their Polish-style Wałęsa moustaches and tight jeans. Nowadays, Polish blokes sport shaved heads, short bomber jackets and tight t-shirts/vests. Walking into a Polish club these days is like walking down Canal Street on a weekend. Do they really not get it? :)

The most stupid question I heard a few weeks ago was: "Why are Poles patriotic?"

Neanderthal machismo

??? Whta do you mean??? Im polish women and I think we have rather gentelmen here than machos. The "żule" are just "margines społeczny". Dont spread stereotypes.

Walking into a Polish club these days is like walking down Canal Street on a weekend.

Could you put it in other words... I really have no idea what does it mean.

He was poking fun on you. Pole (like North Pole) + land = Poland ;)
