So after the fist week of man playing I find things even more interesting. The coach brought in a lot of new players and is obviously building next generation team after a lot of the team is getting old and after the Olympics it's time for a change.
While less...efficient and accurate they are also more unpredictable which is kind of fun to watch.
No losses for the guys for now.
The girls are back on this week and won their last two games. They do seem to struggle though a little bit with consistency.
They do adore their coach though and that is really cool to see.

Today the men's volleyball team plays against Italy in...Chicago! And you could hear it during the anthem 🤣
The team is undefeated in this VNL so far and the bookies favour Poland in this match.

Bravo, she won 6-0, 6-0.

When was the last 6-0, 6-0 Grand slam final? I think Steffi Graff managed it in the late 80s... any examples since then?

last result like that 114 years ago.

I looked it up and Steffi Graff's 6-0, 6-0 victory over Natalia Zvereva was in 1988 but it was the French Open, not Wimbledon.

Congratulations to Świątek!

Does this return her number one ranking?

The girls just won their quarter final match and oh my, what a thriller. In set 1 &3 we looked like kids trying to play against professionals. How the girls managed to keep their morale and win is beyond me. GO POLAND!

Congratulations to Poland! Volleyball isn't very popular worldwide, but for Poland it's an important deal.

I would say it's fairly popular, maybe not to the same level but still.

And so I found myself in the middle of a Tour de Pologne. Miraculously, I got the last two rooms. The hotel was packed. It was an international crowd. There will definitely be a long queue at breakfast today. Yesterday was the finish line in Karpacz.

Miloje

"It bothers me a little that the atmosphere is being created where Zvezda has already passed Lech because it is the champion of a country with a population of 40 million people."

Whoever wins Crvena Zvezda or Lech Poznan will play in the next round against either Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) or Pafos from Cyprus for a place in the UEFA Champions League.

In the name of Świętowit, may these Zvezdan rats suffer mortal wounds from the ferocious jaws of the glorious Kolejorz.

I think what Bronowicki means when he says that Zvezda is the overwhelming favourite against Lech Poznan and that its situation is unattainable for Polish clubs is that the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić is a fan and supporter of Crvena Zvezda which is a state funded project.

What is also important to mention is that the general sponsor is Gazprom so the Russians are pumping millions of $ into the club.

Putin receives standing ovations

From whom?
Vesko Vukovic  1 | 215

brigate

1

From whom?

Brigates one of the Ultras groups of Crvena Zvezda many of which have traveled to Poznan. Some are coming to Poland by car I heard 4 buses of them are also on the way to the match.

The Polish police have to be on high alert because it is possible that fights between them and Ukrainians residing in Poland could break out.

possible that fights between them and Ukrainians residing in Poland

Fights between russia loving serbs and freedom loving Poles are more likely..... Poles do not like russia (neither do they like countries that give up their dignity for money from russia).
