Let's protest censorship in Poland's mainstream media!

To quote the late, great Mandy Rice-Davies "well, he would say that, wouldn't he"

GW, no matter how you dislike it since its editorial line is not far-right wing and it is still independent, is still the most respected news source here.

Now it will be interesting to see if the Kaczynski Cult try to compromise that, as they have elsewhere in the media.

Looks like you don't follow current events here...

And certainly don't follow anything the current unpopular regime have been up to, especially concerning the media...

Merged: PO-censored films to be aired on TVP

A number of documentaries which PO-controlled public television kept shelved are finally seeing the light of day. The first was "Comrade General" (about Jaruzelski). The pro-Polish government are therefore keeping their pledge to make TVP impartial, reliable and balanced. Under the PO regime it had to serve the ruling party and mainly things bearing the Michnikite stamp of approval were shown.

PO-controlled public television

Can you explain how a minority party in the Sejm was able to control public television?

The film "Comrade General" was shown on public television (TVP1) channel on the 1st of Febuary 2010. The website of TV Republica does not mention it which reminds us once again that they are not exactly as impartial and reliable as they would like to. About 3 million people watched the film in 2010. Wojciech Jaruzelski, SLD and Gazeta Wyborcza said afterwards they were "not amusued" with this film. The public TV has indeed kept it shelved ever since, neither showing it again nor selling anyone the licence to show it.

Merged: Do you sense informative blockade of Poland ? Give real info to Poles!

Let me tell it openly. i sense that Poles aren`t informed enough (speaking of great majority of population in Poland). i also sense that many information that Poles receives coming from western European media centers that on one side keep Poles obliged to certain prejudices, while on the other side preventing and inhibit Poles to change their way of thinking when it seams natural considering Poland`s environment and having in mind reality.

ok, real info:

No animal anywhere in the nature kills his own babies.

Except westerners, they regularly kill millions of babies through abortions.

Plenty of animals do; humans don't. A foetus is not a baby.

Plenty of animals do; humans don't.

Wrong as usual. Or maybe in your twisted mind Indians are not a human kind, nobody would be surprised.

I'm in Poland and cannot access InfoWars.com - can you? What's going on?

It's probably ashamed to show its grubby face there.

@Ludwig

Is that Alex Jones' website where he discusses subjects like how the government turned all the frogs gay, and how the Sandy Hook kindergarten shooting is a Soros-funded hoax?

Whose business is to dictate what to discuss or think or not? That's the definition of censorship.

how the government turned all the frogs gay

Hahaha!!! Good one!

Jones is out there much of the time, but he hits the mark every now and again, at least 10 years ago or so he did. The dude is seriously high strung.

Individual human beings. At least one of whom went to court because of damage caused by the worst kind of lies from that Jones creep, lies he was going to great efforts to publicise and smear round the internet for financial gain.

And you know what? The little guy won. Words have their consequences.

...and proved that Poland today is no better than the one I left in 1966 - happily jamming RFE. Same sh*it.
Just curious...Where is the Polish Ministry of Truth located? Would it be where KGB and their UB brothers used to be?

You are overstating Jones' influence and power. He's not some heavyweight big guy. He has much less influence than Rachel Maddow who is his parallel on the left.

I cannot access RT.com either. Ok I guess Poland is a very weak nation because it's afraid of what people may think or read. Good riddance.

If you really cannot live without your daily serving of non-biased news, use a VPN.

That's good to hear. There are occasional reports in the newspapers here about him getting sued and he was once interviewed on the BBC and just shouted in one long rant, probably for a publicity stunt.

I just had a look at the site and it's a steaming pile of dogshìt.

happily jamming

If they are actually blocking it. Poland don't restrict their internet as much as most developed countries. Perhaps one of Alex Jones' victims has a lawsuit against the site there, or perhaps the poster's own internet settings are set to parental controls.

Coincidence? No, they are blocking it until proven otherwise.
