I can live in a tent in a forest and eat hedgehogs
.
I wouldn't do that because Tularemia is very common among them.

Hypothetically, if the US invaded Greenland, which country is firing the first shot at an American soldier? Which country is then going to face the US military? Answer? Not fvcking one European country will fire one shot if it happened.

All the b1tching about Venezuela, and no action. This is the world today. There are two countries willing to fight for what they want. Russia and the US. And if they did make a deal, it would likely lead to many other deals because who is going to stop them?

Nobody...but they will condemn it diplomatically.

Bit unfair to the Ukrainians who have been fighting for 4 years and have the North Nigerians stuck 6km outside Pokrovsk

The American version of fighting seems to be bomb somewhere for a weekend then leave someone else to clean up the mess for 20 years.

ussia and the US. And if they did make a deal

Every country that 'makes a deal' with russia ends up regretting it...

I don't think China (especially) and India regret their recent deals with Russia.

.....I wonder.....if Grönland really is that important, Putin would be stupid to do nothing and just let it fall to the US....they did the error once with Alaska....

*puts on thinking hat*

I see Russia going to war with Trump over Grönland, not Europe....Europe can only look on (as always).....but he has to secure or end the Ukraine operation for that....if Grönland really, really, really is that important as the rumours say...Ukraine is nothing compared to it! And thats also the reason why Trump kind of "forgot" about Ukraine....

Its all part of the new partitioning of the world, and Grönland is seemingly the by far tastiest morsel by now....Trump said so himself "for the national security", not about some minerals!

Trump insists Greenland is crucial for national security

theguardian.com/world/2026/jan/14/greenland-us-trump-talks-denmark

Of course, the coin could fall the other way too....Trump giving Ukraine + the rest of Europe to Putin, in turn Putin lets fall Grönland to Trump.....

*gets popcorn*

The EU's little-known way to save Greenland without NATO

Denmark could trigger the EU's Article 42.7 if the U.S. attacks Greenland. But it would face high legal, political and military hurdles.

Bit unfair to the Ukrainians

More than 150K Ukraine men between 18 and 22 ran to Poland in the last quarter of 2025. Not exactly a message of Ukraine fighting for itself. Without conscription and forced fighting on front lines Ukraine would be completely over run.

@mafketis

Please explain how Russia on another continent with a depleated army is going to make the US regret anything. Greenland will be the next Puerto Rico. And Trump just saying he wants it has Europe sending military to defend it, thats a nice cost cutting measure when his goal is to keep it out of Russia or China's hands.

Kremlin says Russia sees Greenland as Danish territory

Russia considers Greenland to be Danish territory, the Kremlin said in a statement Friday. The statement also described the security situation around Greenland as "extraordinary" from an international

On French TV, an expert used a map to explain to viewers that Greenland is actually closer to Europe than to the United States.

For clarity, the map had to be stretched so that Iceland appeared south of Spain and Portugal.

;) ;)

The lying French leftards moved Iceland to Spain! ROTFL!

Its about time Trump pulls us out of NATO

Im tired of funding ahole Eurotards, all stupid lefties!

They are so afraid of Putan that they want the US to do their dirty work, feckless pu$$ies!

The Eurps wont do anything when Trump takes Greenland, just the same when Putan invaded Ukraine.

They are nothing but keyboard warriors with big mouths they cant back up.

Greenland will be the next Puerto Rico.

Trump wanting to buy Greenland is like buying yet another high-maintenance lemon property. The US would have to borrow 60B every year just maintain it. In the name of what - some minerals under a permafrost?

How does the US benefit from Puerto Rico being its territory - it is just money pit:

"A significant portion of Puerto Ricans receive U.S. government assistance, with reports indicating around 47% of households use welfare programs, and high enrollment in Medicaid, with figures showing nearly 48% of residents covered by Medicaid/CHIP."

Puerto Rico is a floating garbage dumb full of freeloaders that are a lag on the economy.

Greenland is needed for security. It will be part of the golden dome.

The europeans can jump up and down and hold thier breath until they are blue in the face.

Trump will have Greenland:)

The US is close to insolvency, so a smart president would have to first figure out how to get rid of the liabilities before borrowing more money to buy new stuff. Removing immigrants and tariffs is not going to be enough when interest payments are at the same level as all the military budget.

Puerto Rico hosts Navy and Airforce bases, pretty strategic. In solvency not likely in the US. Just print your own money to pay off the debt or tell China to FO. The idea that the government takes loans in its own currency that it controls is rediculous, and the Fed will one day be eliminated.

and the Fed will one day be eliminated.

Not possible as it would be even worse because of a hyperinflation and the US dollar would become a very risky asset (no oversight of the printing press), which would mean that the interest rates would have to be 2-3x higher than they are today.

The only solution is to pay off the debt somehow, but math doesn't work. Invading Venezuela and Greenland, tariffs, DOGE, and crackdown on immigration is a nice try, but it's still too little. The government may have to steal the social security from Americans as it would cover most of the debt, but which party would go for it.

, in turn Putin lets fall Grönland to Trump.....

Putin is in no position to let anybod anything. Russia is a third-tier power, and this kind of exchange was possible during the Cold War - not now.

Grönland

Could you write it in a proper name? This looks a lot like groin.---

I find myself unable to estimate Russia correctly (always assuming the worst)....must be something inherited!

Could you write it in a proper name? This looks a lot like groin

....or "Groan" :)

Na gut....from now on..."Greenland"....

He ain't lying there.

That means he probably will go the whole nine yard....and there is nothing Europe can do to stop him....

Okay....maybe the french nukes....but somehow I don't see Macron threatening Trump with them over Greenland.....

Why can't he name some desert Greenland and invite FIFA over there?

You have no clue. Inflation is very low. Under Biden three times as high. Stop with your bvllshit already. The Fed cant even explain why the Fed exists or why the Government barrows the money it prints itself. Another scheme looking earily similar to the banking of the 1920s and 30s in Germany.
Ironside  53 | 13996

to estimate Russia correctly

Don't take me wrong, Putin would have loved such an exchange. The thing is, any American politician who agrees on that would be a traitor or a damn fool.
Why can't he name some desert Greenland

It's good for Norway as well; at least you have a guarantee that from then on, they don't find themselves facing China or Russia.

As far as I am concerned Americans can have Greenland as long as Greenlanders are ok with it. EU should not interfere unless people living in Greenland right now are willing to put up an armed resistance and are killed because of it.

@PolAmKrakow

Your idea is that the US government (not the FED) should manage and print its own dollars. So when the Democrats come into power, they could decide to create $1 trillion for redistribution to black Americans. Or Trump Jr. might decide that the US should spend $2 trillion on a mission to Mars.

Are you okay with that? Would you buy a single US bond if it could lose half its value because of a delusional politician? You might - but only if you were earning 10-15% a year to offset the risk of hyperinflation.
Mr Grunwald  34 | 2274

It's good for Norway as well

Is this a joke? That's like trying to convince a Pole that it's a good idea to let U.S.A get western part of Czech Republic. Cause «It will be good for Poland as well» over my dead body.

It was a quiet informal consensus that nobody does anything stupid in Nordic areas. One of the reasons Scandinavian countries didn't invest too much in the military. To not upset either Russia or U.S.A so that the status quo remained.

With Russia making more bold moves and trying to act as if they own Svalbard, U.S moving on Greenland at same time! They are in kahoot with one another! U.S had bases there but, withdrew cause it was too costly. U.S.A is destabilizing the status quo on Russia's and China's behest! U.S.A is making it less safe not more safe...

Besides they are breaking their own agreement with Denmark after purchasing islands from them! They were supposed to leave Greenland alone! Now they are breaking it! No deal with U.S.A is to be trusted from now on.
Ironside  53 | 13996

. U.S.A is destabilizing the status quo on Russia's and China's behest

The status quo is gone with the wind. The new status quo is being froged and a part of it would be Greenland in US possession, to prevent China from a hostile takeover. This plan makes sense; Norway should rather have the U.S. nearby than China.

I just read Germany sends 13 soldiers (THIRTEEN)....there will be no war!

They have already surrendered and returned home.

But that's okay. Denmark added an extra dogsled.
