Will Poland help defend Greenland against US Imperialism

Although the Venezuelan's will doubtless make some over the next few years.

There will not be any American graves in Venezuela because we know how to be persuasive with very few US casualties.

32 Cubans vs 0 Americans...numbers I can live with...

In the real world the amount of things that needs US consent will shrink.

I agree. So will the trade deficit...

As I said earlier, you have my blessings and support if you decide to beat the crap out of Russia without US consent. I already have a stack of popcorn bags in my garage...

BTW, the quoted sentence has three errors.

The EU (excluding the UK) has become irrelevant to the US. US withdrawal from NATO seems very likely at this point, especially after the US "buys" Greenland. They can do a sham referendum for the whole Greenland population of 50k people, pay them $1M each, and take full control.

They can do a sham referendum

Or tell them that the US will be conducting a series of nuclear above-ground tests, so they are welcome to immigrate to America.

They can do a sham referendum

If they want their debt dumped, their currency devalued and their exports to stop.

So did US conquer Venezuela yet?

So far, Venezuela has conquered the US.

Half a million of them are roaming the country, raping, murdering, and terrorizing...

I see a problem...Quoting:

As part of the Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland has extensive LGBTQ+ rights, with same-sex marriage and adoption legalized in 2016.

Gender Recognition: It's possible to change legal gender without surgery or hormone therapy, and non-binary gender is recognized in some areas.

To get US passports, the three Greenland's non-binaries will have to look down there and check if it's a penis or vagina... Can you imagine the trauma and shock...

I think we will need another amendment or give up on Greenland...Let Xi deal with this crap... in 20 seconds or less...

Something I just saw on twitter (and which had passed through my mind a time or two...)

Does Trump think Greenland is a lot bigger than it is?

It's a big island, but nowhere near as large as it appears on old-fashioned maps (with uneven latitude lines).

It's a big bigger than Mexico, about four times the size of France, a bit over twice the size of Turkey (and six times the size of Poland) but it's not the size of Africa (which it appears to be on old maps).

Would Trump be very disappointed that obtaining Greenland didn't make the US bigger than russia (I think he's obsessed with the idea of running the biggest country in the world, dumb but very much on brand).

@mafketis, isn't it about Greenland's natural resources?

Btw, so Poland got upgraded to "major European power" now? 🤔🧐

@mafketis, isn't it about Greenland's natural resources?

Not so easy to get at (and Greenlanders have mostly discouraged it).

The location is very strategic (especially to keep china and russia in check in the arctic) but the US doesn't need to own it, just reactivate old bases (and/or build a couple new ones).

That would be easy to do.

I really think it's Trump being a size queen....

Entirely that. He wants to be in Mt Rushmore and either get a third term somehow or try to d secure a republican successor. Neither of which should ever happen.

Based on a 1951 treaty, the US can still operate in Greenland almost as if it were its own territory, including resource extraction. For Greenlanders, the best lifetime deal might be to hold a referendum and demand as much money per person as possible.

The second option is to do nothing and the US will still do whatever it wants. In the end, the bully wins.

Based on a 1951 treaty

Treaties can be rescinded by either party.

and the US will still do whatever it wants

They might find that rebounds on them, including tanking their economy when wealthy countries dump American debt and sanctions are imposed.

Bizarre, given that Denmark is a friendly country.

Torq has already proposed as much: We should bring a suitcase full of money and bribe all 52,000 Greenlanders with a million in cold hard cash each to take up a referendum to join the US.

Seems like Torq is becoming a major influencer: first, the resurrecting "retard" and now, bribing Greenlanders to shake off the oppressive yoke of Danish rule.

Payola?

Why not just not try threatening friendly countries?

That's the idea.

Now I only have to figure out how to get Greenlandic citizenship fast.

Payola, bribe, seed money...call it what you want.

Why not just not try threatening friendly countries?

We've got some major strategery going on right now, jonny...ain't got time for playing footsies. Gotta let folks know we're serious. We got to slay the dragon before it slays us. Atl east, I think this is what this is all about.
@Torq

Torqi, seriously, with your elevated level of intelligence...no, you're playing coy. Pay the Greenlandic immigration officer off-it's an investment with mind-blowing ROI.

Payola, bribe

That's what it is.

We've got some major strategery going on

And you had a long term ally called Denmark and very friendly relations with Greenland, including allowing you to have bases there.

There's no reason for the status quo to change.

There's an effing dragon growing unchecked by the day that's parked 90 miles from us that likes the status quo. That dragon concerns me, ergo reason to at least considering a change to the status quo.

I might be right behind you. The lovely Mrs AntV suggested once we take over that sheet of ice we move there ao she can be closer to her mother.

We can build our igloos right next to each other. We'll be neighbors.

And in the other direction you've almost got a direct border with r*SSia.

Why wreck relations with Europe, including a massive loss of trade income, for the foreseeable future when Denmark already allows you to have bases there?

I always knew that many thousands are reading PF, without ever posting here.

Perhaps they read PF in the White House?

@jon357

Because we know it won't wreck relations long-term, you are as, if not more, dependent on trade with us as we are on you, that European security needs America at this moment....and that, at least some of, your leaders know China is engaged in one mothereffer of a global operation to undermine and weakening not only America but the entire west and know they need to be stopped.

Russia ain't jack compared to China...no offense Bobko. Plus, I don't share the prevailing Euro view of Russia's intentions.
Perhaps they read PF in the White House?

Proof Torq is a global influencer of the highest order.

Ladies and gentlemen of PF, we are mingling with a star!

You'll quickly find that changes.

they need to be stopped.

And that orange sociopath is likely to cause the opposite.

You have good relations with Denmark. Why threaten an invasion of their territory.
