Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 26

Yeltsin somehow managed to recognised, through his vodka soaked state that the shock treatment was just foreign vultures gorging themselves

He saw something in Putin, many, many years before others saw it in him.

I recommended Kania a book on the subject - "The Time of Berezovsky"... There you can see, the degree to which the oligarchs felt "blindsided" by the "Real Putin".

They thought they had the old man under control, and that they would manage the succession to their own ultimate benefit. How wrong they were...

Grandpa brought into power their executor, and their butcher.

Within 2 years of Putin being in power, they were moaning like old ******. In five years, they all became either exiled, jailed, or turned into submissive executors of his will.

So yes, Yeltsin... maybe alcoholic, maybe a very weak human being, but he had a good radar for character.

and they wanted to keep their assets to themselves.

Or at least transfer the assets to their own bank accounts in Cyprus and The Cayman Islands or spaff the assets on footballer's wages and *****'s handbags

It's weird the way people try to excuse North Nigerian debauchery and theft

There's a history to this, too :)

People love Russian debauchery and wildness - even if they don't want to admit to themselves.

A good period to focus on, if you want, is the period of Russian occupation in Paris after the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars. Lots of simultaneous disgust and curiosity from the side of the Parisians.

Reading today, Mickiewicz's poem - "Do przyjaciół Moskali".

Important for modern Poles and modern Russians to read.

Here, you can see Mickiewicz - Poland's greatest son - speaking to Russians as brothers. He's angry, he's bitter, there is betrayal in his voice - but he still speaks to brothers, in brotherly language. He calls them to conscience, not with the detachment of an anthropologist, but with the urgency of a priest.

He plays the notes that he knows exactly will be the most painful for a Russian.

So... then... if Mickiewicz can talk to Russians as a brother - what prevents a Korvinus or an Alien from doing the same?

This title cannot be translated directly.

It can, it means "To Muscovite Friends"......even I could understand that and my reading of Polish is not great!

You have to read what you can't see, but you know it's there. Every educated Pole knows that the proper title would be "Na pohybel Moskalom". Translate this first, then I'll explain why the official title is different.

So Russia decided for derail Trump's plans to invade Venezuela.

An irony like no other...A Russian "tyrant" saving American lives.

Millions of views on those tweets.

The average MAGA follower is not exactly discerning when it comes to information hygiene.

Cheap, quick to film, and with outsized results.

I rate this psyop at 5.5 out of 10.

discerning when it comes to information hygiene.

With AI and click baiting, there is no such thing on the internet as information.

@Novichok

For a person of your age, you are remarkably savvy in your ability to appraise information critically.

Most of the older folks I know in the States and back home, fall hook, line and sinker for the most primitive AI slop.

If they had a conspiratorial mindset to begin with, you can then convince them of whatever the hell you want - they are like children.

Scary times...

I start with the assumption that what I see or am told is a lie.

Then, if three sources that hate each other say the same thing, I am willing to tag it as likely true.

Or when a person admits to being an evil azzhole. See Merkel, migrants, and Ukraine.

"We were just buying time..." said this POS...I trust her.

This is the way.

I work in a space now, where on occasion people hire public relations agencies to fight their fights. You would be shocked to learn the capabilities of these outfits. Former Israeli intelligence operatives and CIA agents - at your beck and call - designing corrosive discreditation campaigns which will bring anyone low.

Life was simpler when the whole country watched the same three channels - ABC, CBS, and NBC. It was better when you had a single Walter Cronkite - versus ten thousand Charlie Kirks pouring poison into your ear from each angle.

Anyone seen Lavrov lately? Word is, that his disastrous conversation with Rubio led to the cancellation of the Budapest meeting and has (until the wind blows again) turned Trump against rusia. So, he's become the official scapegoat (ironic since he probably just said what he was told to say).

One joke is that he's joining microsoft.... cause he's about to make a major windows breakthrough!

He's a poisonous peace of shjt so I don't care what happens to him..... he knew what the russian government was when he signed up.

He always looks like he is on the verge of croaking so maybe he has exited quietly in a 1980s Politburo style. He should hopefully still be alive though as he has an appointment in The Hague coming up

Thanks for not translating your Lavrov post, not only do we not understand Russian but cyrillic is beyond most civilised people too.

And even those who do not understand Russian can read some of their books that was translated, where he predicted current crisis years ago...

I tried to read some of it but not only were they idiotic but boring too! He should have been shot, like all bad Russians are!!!

he predicted current crisis years ago

... and he writes seemingly obvious things, like that the current distribution of aggregate profits in the economy in favour of the financial system is untenable in the long run, e.g. in American economy in which over half of the profits (5% before WW2, over 50% now) are currently removed from production and services.

The whole quasi-nazification of America that we currently observe (MAGA, the fascist witch-hunt against immigrants) is merely a result of economic processes - as Khazin very rightly points out in his article on Breton Woods: in the United States at present, the actual disposable income of households (adjusted for the real rate of inflation and not the official one) is at the level of the early 1960s, and all additional demand comes from reducing savings and increasing debt (of both households and the government). American wallets become thinner, so Americans become more fascist - nihil novi sub sole (one might be surprised by the speed at which they put on brown shirts, but not at the fact itself).

WTF are you talking about. Nazi facist witch hunt? Illegal migrants are illegal. WTF dont you understand? If you enter illegally you break the law and should be deported. That is the same in any sane country, you know, like Poland. Facists were Obama, Biden and the democratic party that censored free speech, and forced people to do things under a needless global quarantine. Facist is making a false document to incriminate your enemy like the Russian document that was debunked before it was even used. Those are the same tactics the real Nazi party used. Kindly go fvck yourself. You dont know anything about the US.
