Solnechnogorsk

Aaaah - the air defense and airborne troops city! Nice.

Stick around, Grabbi. You will find out with time (a lot of time) that we are not as bad as we seem at first. :)

But....yeah.....we never had an Ukrainian here, hadn't we???

Is it because the history with Poland?

But that can't be worse than with Germany....and here I am!

We had Nathan and I was beastly to him at first. *red face* But then we got on rather well.

Is it because the history with Poland?

I don't think so. It's one of the mysteries of the universe - with two million Ukrainians in Poland, not a single one joined PF. :(

Torq

This isn't exactly the Airborne Forces, but the "Vystrel" special forces training base (the Highest Officer Courses of the Orders of Lenin and the October Revolution, the Red Banner "Vystrel" named after Marshal of the Soviet Union B.M. Shaposhnikov) - a military educational institution in the Armed Forces of the USSR and Russia.

Thanks for the info, Grabi.

But your city does have AA defense traditions (or at least used to have some time ago)... or am I confusing something as usual?

One way or another, if you are ever in Klin and have to go to the dentist, and the guy drilling your tooth is named Yuri - tell him Torq sends his best wishes. :)

You are a funny fruit.

Do you understand how strange you look?

Where did you go to school? Me and Velund we shared this biographical information.

Do you live in Russia now?

I think that the forum PF is rather obscure. Those who are proficient in the English language and do not actively participate in the war, yet still care about it, probably choose more prominent sites to promote their cause. That's just my guess.

Interesting, and what's so strange about that? Yes, I'm in Russia, where I was born, and that's where I'm useful.

Yes, I'm in Russia, where I was born, and that's where I'm useful.

And that is where you will die under Ukrainian or NATO attacks,Russian military is a paper tiger..... absolutely useless!

Grabber, meet Miloslaw - an avid consumer of YouTube propaganda videos.

Miloslaw, meet Grabber - most probably a Russian from Moskovskaya Oblast.

Why ignore them?

I meant don't quit.

You will balance this place very well...full of Russia hating azzholes...

Bobko is too nice and Velund shows up rarely so I am doing all I can...

Velund shows up rarely

Rich, I need to do my work, and there is more and more orders last couple of years. Because when customers come to dealers of our chinese competitors that offer quite a bit cheaper equipment, similar to ours, and ask "can you add a little feature to assure compatibility with equipment we use", usually answer is negative and immediate. Blah, blah, chinese factory makes millions of unit yearly and cannot distract their engineering resources to make a customised versions of firmware for customers who buy hundred or two...

I even refused to become a team lead of R&D dept, because that assume additional administrative load...

When I will be retired, like Milo, and will have a lot of time to spend for some BS - I probably will have chances to visit forums more often. But more likely I will spend free time to radio amateur hobby and will travel to activate various places where people forgot what is HAM radio... ;)

Rich, I need to do my work,

I knew that and didn't mean to criticize you.

and will travel to activate various places where people forgot what is HAM radio... ;)

Before I expire, I want to be on that fast train from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

The Trans-Siberian is too long and they don't have a hospital car.

Can you post pictures of your HAM rig?

You mean full of Russophiles. Either genuine (like you or me) or in denial (like Maf or Cms).

HAM radio

Probably you are lying. The only ham they have in Russia is hedgehog ham (Chinese hedgehog). ;)

It will be not so pretty now..;) Icom IC-7100 have external controller (separate front panel connected to main unit by cable), so main unit is placed in a remote corner of workbench.

I can offer much prettier photo of IC-7100 from Internet. There is two backup rigs here (FT-900CAT and FT-450AT), but both is on storage shelf now.

I want to be on that fast train from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

If you wish REALLY fast train, go to Shanghai, and try maglev from city to Pudong airport. ;) Been there, seen that. But for rail and climate with snowy winters, the one between Msk and Spb is quite decent.

@Bratwurst Boy "But....yeah.....we never had an Ukrainian here, hadn't we???"

They are not interested in communication, all they care about is benefits and money from the European Union. Freebie))

If you wish REALLY fast train, go to Shanghai,

I don't like anything Chinese.

While in Moscow, I would go to a high school to talk to the students...and tell them that they should be proud to be Russians and that many Americans are on their side.

Can you buy ICOM gear in Russia now? They make that super receiver, IC-R8600, that covers everything from 10kHz to 30 GHz.
Velund  1 | 518
2 days ago   #501
10kHz to 30 GHz.

to 3 GHz, not 30... But still nice receiver. Bit too overpriced, as I think.

But if money is REALLY not an issue, I would prefer R&S PR200 Portable monitoring receiver fully packed with options. ;)

Can you buy ICOM gear in Russia now?

No problem, but a bit more expensive than before and a bit slower to order. Sanctions, you know... ;) ;)

russia failed to meddle in elections in Moldova....

pro EU party wins an absolute majority of seats in parliament

So good.

The russian model simply doesn't appeal to sane people.

pro EU party wins

Probably you should replace word "wins" to some other word. ;) Elections was extremally dirty, and individual results by poll station is hidden.

Yeah, they meddled.... just not very successfully.... three kremlin stooges were apprehended before they could get to the capital with explosives...

For all its many, many, many faults.... the EU offers Moldova a far better future than russia, mired in corruption and violence and crime, ever could.

How can I make you feel more comfortable?

How can I make you feel more comfortable?

No today, Mr. Pozner. No one's buying your spiel. (maybe torq is....)

Anyone want to start a pool on how long before Ilan Shor falls out of a window? (apparently he was given $ 400 million to engineer an electoral victory in Moldova.... and failed.... failed so, so, sooooo badly).

No one's buying your spiel.

What do you mean 'spiel'? Bobko is as honest as it gets: he supports Putin and his war in Ukraine and never made a secret out of it, he is a Russian imperialist and never made a secret out of it. You can dislike him or disagree with him, but accuse him of dishonesty you cannot.

maybe torq is

I'm not buying anything, Maf. Do I like the guy? Sure. Sue me.

Anyone want to start a pool on how long before Ilan Shor falls out of a window?

He should fall out of a window. You make business with gangsters, you end up accordingly.
