A Russian defector is now saying that an attackon Poland is being planned before Christmas to test NATO response and resolve. Three news outlets reported this. I think if this happens that NATO should flatten Kaliningrad and destroy whats left of the Black Sea fleet. Some of those great kenetic strikes they are using on the drug boats would send a message. While I am surprised by this, I think it would usher in a revolt from regular Russians and his people couold turn on him if WW3 looks like it may start.

Every possible scenario and outcome has been gamed many times and there are contingencies for all possibilities

I really hope NATO uses the time till then to actually have a real answer ready!

It's never clear whether a russian defector is a real defector or a plant and defectors also tend to be notorious for wild stories that don't pan out.

It's very clear that russian wants to attack NATO (the logic of putin's government makes that inevitable) but probably not so directly but by causing discord....

My best guess is still the Baltics an attempt to 'take' Narva or Daugavpils quickly (or just cross the border into the Suwałki gap and hunker down without taking any populated areas) and then count on Hungarian fatso Orban and/or wannabe mafioso Fico veto any NATO action.

US power in Europe doesn't exist outside of NATO so the US will face China and russia on its own.... (Trump plans to break russia and china apart are transparently awful and doomed to failure).

Let me be clear, I have never said Russia should win, only that Ukraine cannot win, and they cant. Russia is never giving the land back to Ukraine. So men on both sides are dying needlessly.

As to Russia. Why did you all wake up now? I was talking about that for years. It was obvious they were up to something, and sooner or later, they will act.

The funny thing is, all that recent Russian activity and actions imply that they are weak and getting weaker. That is the standard Russian response. They don't want war with NATO; rather, they gamble, or more precisely, they make an educated guess that the US and NATO will remain passive and won't pose a substantial threat.

If the US and NATO were to press for a major strike against Russia, you would see how quickly Russia would change its tune.
