I don't have access to the inside of Putin's brain, but I think he feels a genuine disgust towards Zelensky. Zelensky is quite literally irredeemable in Putin's eyes.

He has said multiple times in the past that he will only speak to the next president of Ukraine, not this one. The fact that he is agreeing to these recent motions, shows how hard Putin is trying to accommodate Trump.
