Nikita Casap, the teen who murdered his parents in Wisconsin in February and plotted to assassinate Trump, wasn't acting alone.

FBI records show he was in contact with Ukrainians, discussing how to carry out the attack and frame it as a Russian operation. He also asked how soon he could flee to Ukraine afterward - and whether he'd be able to have a normal life there.

This should have been headline news. No mainstream media outlet has touched these public records.

Ironic isn't it? The ones losing WWII are living in infininetely better circumstances than one the victorious powers. People in the former GDR used to pity the Soviet soldiers stationed in East Germany, and did so even more after the soldiers left and it became clear under which circumstances they had to live in their barracks.

1/4 of Russians don't have indoor plumbing. Something that I have to bring up again and again because it is such a mind boggling figure. There are many developing countries that have better infrastructure than that.

Maybe St. Petersburg and Moscow are all that (although quite a lot of people who went there told me otherwise, once one leaves the center). But why is that so? Because Russia extracts the ressources from its' provinces and uses them exclusively to the benefit of the elite living there. Hence you have a nice subway system in St Petersburg and only dirty, muddy roads leading to towns in the Far East.

Meanwhile other European countries make a point of assuring similiar living conditions for all its citizens no matter where they live. Sure some parts are more wealthy than others, but there'll be basic standards everywhere.

Which again brings us to Russia's corrupt leaders and imperialist distractions. Russia could almost look like a fully developed country nowadays if Putin had not decided to waste its' ressources on those imperial delusions.

There are no Russians, those are deluded eastern Ukrainians, there is no such state as Russia nor nationality like Russians - its a nazi idea stemming from Reichskommisariat Moskowien and they speak an Ukrainian dialect.

Is there are any doubt about it? Also, the US helped both Germany and the Soviets to build up their industry. American engineers were working in the Soviet Union before the war. A large investment in the German economy was made by Wall Street before the war.

But that is what Moscows' relationship with its' colonies actually looks like. Russia depends heavily on the ressources extracted from its' colonies, without giving anything back in return. Hence you have shiny Moscow and St. Petersburg, while further away from the imperial center the towns look like they are from a developing country.

The closest thing they came to investing into their colonies was when they started offering (relatively) huge amounts of money to any volunteers for Putin's war of agression against Ukraine. Which is of course tempting to those living in poverty, but will ultimately drain those colonies even more.

As Bobko rightly pointed out, centralisation isn't unique for Russia. Go anywhere in Polish province - some district level town that used to be a vojvodship seat but isn't anymore (Poland went down from 49 to 16 voivodships in 1999) and you will hear how the region's capital, be it Poznań, Gdańsk or Warsaw, is sucking up all the resources.

Besides, Russia has made significant infrastructure investments in parts of the Far East, Siberia, and the Arctic, and it is much more difficult (and costly!) to build and maintain railroads and other infrastructure there than in some moderate climate sleepy Bavarian town. And I wouldn't call those remote parts of Russia "colonies". The term "colony" implies external governance and exploitation by a foreign nation, which doesn't really reflect Russia's internal structure. Remember how Bobko told us that there can be an eskimo-looking Siberian whose name is Ivan Ivanov and he considers himself Russian? This is true, so are they colonizing themselves? It isn't the 18th but 21st century.

Also, don't be such an arsehole about indoor plumbing. Large portion of Russian population lives in rural areas e.g. in Siberia - try to build and maintain a plumbing/sewer system in permafrost conditions. Good luck. Full indor plumbing isn't universal in rural areas even in richer countries than Russia.
