Sounds like a country to me.

It would take a while to explain but trust me it is not a country.
Most likely a wannabe country but in charge of it you have progressives. So you can well imagine what they are doing - those people who are like Democrats in the US.
They are unable to do anything right, so there will be no EU country in the foreseeable future.

Name ten or STFU.

We can always test it, go record yourself in front of Putin's residence shittalking him and the Party, I can do the same with my president and ruling party, then let's see what are the consequences for each of us.

Ukrainian TV threatens Poland: "We'll burn their country down if they act up"

Ukrainian TV openly threatens Poland:

"Every 10th person in Poland is Ukrainian and if they start being history to Ukraine, then (Ukrainians start) burning shops and houses"

That's a blatant way to talk to your ally, who gave you a lot of money and took in your refugees in?

Without the US there are no resources and there is no will to support Ukraine at the present level

Thank you.

In a very undiplomatic and humiliating way, the United States is letting Europe know its place.

And don't blame it on Trump.

Biden dumped Macron with AUKUS deal.

Biden left the UK hanging high and dry with the trade deal, because he wanted them to do a deal with the Irish first.

America is constantly sticking your snout into sh*t, and still you do not learn.

Notice America doesn't talk to Russia in the same way, despite us being slaves and orcs.

Trump, for all his serious faults, is calling them out for their inaction and paralysis

Very refreshing take from Maf.

Russia is a tribal country.

You know as much about Russia, as I know about Neptune.

And don't blame it on Trump.

Who is blaming Trump? It is just the previous administration allowed Europe to wallow in an illusion.
The rise of China and India and the war in ~Ukrianie helped lift that veil of illusion. Some people are not used to seeing reality in all its cruel beauty.

I know.
I was just being a smart ass as the United States is a country made up of 50 States and some of those States are larger than any European country.
So the European Union could be the country and all the little countries within it could be its states.
And since Trump is term limiting out he would be available to be your president of the your new founded country.
but in charge of it you have progressives

Trump could fix it as he is a master at draining the Swamp.
Poor Pawian would have a meltdown and have to move back to his home country Britain.

Because America respects Russia.

People in the UK are now talking about how Europe and Trump have betrayed Ukraine.
I agree that Europe has, we promised much but didn't deliver enough.
As for Trump, I don't believe for a second that he will betray Ukraine.Read between the lines of what he and his aides are saying........

As for the NATO alliance, it will survive, as long as Europeans wake up and take the Russian threat seriously,we need to put ourselves on a "War Footing" and spend AT LEAST 5% of GDP on defence. What do social benefits, the NHS etc matter if we are being attacked in a war?Trump is just kicking European arses into the real world. This is a wake up call!

Why should Americans pay their hard earned taxes to defend Europe?

Time for Europe to pull it's weight, like Poland is already doing.

Europe needs to spend the money it has spent on illegal migrants and use it on its military and its own people. The whole multicultural fiasco is proven to not work. Doctors and scientists from Africa? LMAO Only if you can get a science degree in raping and graffiti.

Because America respects Russia.

Respects, yes. Likes, no. These are two different things. Just as Russia respects the US. These two countries need each other. They need another cold war. They need to fight proxy wars in Africa and the Middle East. Vlad has goals and so does Trump. Both men can help each other succeed on their own national agendas, and that is the only motivation either needs to make a deal on Ukraine.

Again, Z can say no to the deal, but he wont. UK already committing to peace keeping forces. Why? Its not out of generosity, they want a piece of the pie. With peace talks likely taking place on Tuesday Its time for people to realise that it will be the US and Russia who determine the fate of Ukraine. Its always been this way since the US was in Ukraine starting in 2014 training its military. Anyone thinking the 200 billion dollars the US spent on this wont be paid back is delusional.

In other words, the US and russia are telling Ukraine: Wszystko o was bez was.

In other words, recognition of the right of russia to control Ukraine politically (and in theory the right of russia to control the Baltics and Poland).

.... yay?

The US hasn't spent 200 billion dollars on this. As always, your figures are wrong.

Europe and the US have spent roughly the same amount.

Why should American's spend their hard earned taxes in Europe ? Good question - one of the benefits was moral and economic leadership of the world, that has been dismantled in less than a month.

Another is it gives the US forward capabilities to intervene in the middle east, Africa etc. they will have to decide if they want that - if not China will fill the void.

@cms neuf
183 Billion is the figure. As always you're a knit picking azzhole. Its Europes problem and they should spend more. The US will continue to be the world economic leader, and it doesnt need to support Ukraine to do so. The American people have heard enough of the European BS about leading morally. How about they address their own morality at home with that money and stop the democrat leftist insanity? Forward capabilities? The US does not need them as long as it stays out of the middle east bull$hit. The forever wars are ending. NATO is not a defenisve tool for the US, no one is about to invade. NATO only exists to protect Europe.

@mafketis
IF the Baltics or anyone else doesnt want to be under Russian influence they need to spend on defense and should have been spending the last 30 years. Poland is playing catch up, and Germany wont get to 3% for another 5 years. That is not descriptions of countries who are taking threats seriously, that is a description of countries who are still hoping for everyone to get along. If everyone has been and continues to be so afraid of Russia why TF havent they done something for the last thirty years?

It's nitpicking, not "knitpicking"

That is not the number

We have a process for deciding what morality we follow - democratic elections. North Nigeria should try it !

US Air Force General publicly admits what everybody paying attention has realized for over a year: the US government doesn't want Ukraine to win:

"We have purposely been slow at training F-16 pilots" for Ukraine. We didn't want to do it quickly because that might actually affect the war. We in the West are morally and intellectually incapable of conceiving a defeated Russia and a defeated Putin."
- retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove, a former supreme allied commander for Europe

no one is about to invade

Don't be so sure about that.....
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says U.K troops are ready to be deployed to Ukraine to support the nation in its defense against Russia.
"I do not say that lightly. I feel very deeply the responsibility that comes with potentially putting British servicemen and women in harm's way," Starmer said on Sunday.
Great, just great.
While Sir Trump is trying to deescalate the Brits want to escalate the war.
I pray this doesn't provoke Putin into nuking London.
I hope Trump will stay out of it all together.

Its Europes problem

Let's be clear here if the trajectory of the US policy will continue in this direction in Europe.
Europe has a Chinese option.

Starmer says U.K troops are ready to be deployed

With that Britain takes over the leadership in Europe, clearly!

Also interesting, I read that british troops would fulfill more than just being a consolation for the Ukrainians....it's about that mystical "Article 5"....should one british soldiers hair be hurt in Ukraine (through russian power that is) that becomes a cause for NATO and the whole alliance!

The big question now is if that still matters in Washington...if not the whole NATO is bust, totally....that article is the basis, the bottom, the reason fo this whole thing.

And in the end, it might be even to big for Trump to just throw it into the bin....

Europe has a Chinese option.

Never! Thats so much worse.....

With Trump you know that he will gone, in four years most probably, the Chinese on the other hand like to kill their possible voters/dissenters on huge places! And they are allied with Russia....

Intelligent people who know that you mustn`t change the rules during a game.

Says who? If people are really intelligent, like me (contrary to you), they realize that nothing is set in stone, and as always, power decides.
In the last few decades so so-called liberal elites have been feeding everyone an illusion, well not everyone, Russia as alien as they are, they know their ABC in politics.
We can say that Putin's gamble is almost successful.
---
With that Britain takes over the leadership in Europ

Come on BB, he is bluffing, what troops, Britain has navy, nukes and that is, their army is inferior and not nearly enough.
---
With Trump you know that he will gone,

I don't think that shift in the US policy is limited to Trump.
I think they are a powerful force backing him up as well as overwhelming popular support.
I bet that shift will be permanent, although details are not clear yet, we will see how it will develop.
One thing is certain if Trump goes hardcore with his policy toward Europe, the only thing Europe has to do is to get real and kick out liberal elite from power together with green policies and all that Brussels nonsense, and focus on building a European limited Union with unified foreign policy.
For that, a lot needs to be changed, and talk about a leader in Europe should cease every country will have a role to play
----
In that scenario Chinese option seems to be a good idea, the US would play an alliance with Russia.
