The Fifth Nationwide Polish-Language Oratory Contest in China is a national educational and cultural event addressed to university students and pupils learning Polish as a foreign language. The contest serves as a platform for presenting linguistic and rhetorical competencies, as well as knowledge of Polish culture and social realities



Contest Characteristics

Format: Oratorical speeches delivered in Polish (often including elements of improvisation and responses to questions from the jury).

Topics: Polish culture, history, and contemporary society; experiences in learning the Polish language; social and intercultural issues.

Participants: Students of Polish studies / Polish philology and learners of Polish from universities across China.

Objectives:

improving the level of practical proficiency in the Polish language,

developing public speaking skills,

strengthening academic and cultural exchange between China and Poland.

Organization and Significance

The contest is organized in cooperation with Chinese academic institutions offering Polish studies, with the support of organizations promoting Polish culture. The fifth edition confirmed the growing interest in the Polish language in China as well as the maturity of the teaching programs, with greater emphasis on fluency, argumentation, and stylistic accuracy.
