I heard this song on the radio today and loved it instantly:

Old Good Marriage -Green Angels from Bieszczady Mountains

I heard this song on a pilgrimage once and was thrilled by the melody. We had been walking all day, exhausted and hungry, and it started raining like hell, so the guide priest initiated the song and it fekking worked! It breathed new life into us.

Lord is My Shepherd:

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
[2]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters
[3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake
[4]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

[5]Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemes; thou annointest my headwith oil; my cup runneth over
[6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. and I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever.

Funny but its arrangement and choir remind me of Jewish songs that I heard in New York.

Yes!

Hey, it is not the Riddle thread! :):):):)

A few years ago the Christian family-with-kids pop rock group Noah`s Ark was at the peak of popularity in Poland. My children love their songs.

Here are our fav:

Everybody can be a saint:

You will never leave me

Alleluja:

Forgiven wrongdoing, spared debts:

Thank you, Dad:

I am not afraid when it is dark, my Father is leading me by my hand.
I love and need you so much

One the the most moving songs about a terminally ill child:

I am not dying, I am just falling asleep

Another nice song I heard today:

Jesus was not a Jew?

Are you saaying that He was without any doubt ?
Actually He was a Judean entirely different from what we know jews as today.

e was a Judean entirely different from what we know jews as today.

Indeed, if we go down the tribal path, he was genetically closer to Palestinians than Isreali,
If we look at a cultural and religious issues into consideration all those were nothing like Jews today.

And I am an Atheist!

It confirms my suspicions that most of the athesits are not that bright.

most of the atheists are not that bright.

Are very opinionated to the sound of their own ego drum.
Atheists often try to provoke emotional reactions to gain a sense of control over others.

I don`t need to prove Goddess coz I clearly wrote: OR ! Ha!!! When we use OR, it means a dose of doubt! Ha!!

While your controversial opinion on Jesus sounded very dogmatic so you need to prove it. Ha!!!

I am truly astounded you don`t comperehend such basic issues. What is your education?????????

Blest be merciful is one of the 8 blessings aka beatitudes of the RC religion. This song which deals with the issue has a nice melody and I like it.

It has English subtitles so there is no need to provide the lyrics exept the chorus:

Blest are the merciful
For it is mercy that shall be shown to those who show mercy.

of the RC religion

Of the Christian religion. Since they are taken from the Sermon on the Mount, they are common to all Christian denominations including RC.

And they are something that people (including a lot of churchgoers) would do well to remember.

Yes, of course.

This song which deals with the issue

Another version with remixed disco music. And the clip contains scenes of dancing clergy. I already said somewhere else that such dances came to conservative Poland in late 1980s after visits and performances of American believers in churches here.

@ pawian

Thats not funny at all, its horrible, but thats Christianity for you - it comes from Judaism. The good thing is that "remakes" of Slavic songs or creations of songs that suppose to simulate Slavic festive sounds have no trace of anything Jewish.

Both fine religions, and both an inseparable part of Poland's cultural heritage.

American believers in churches here.

Liturgical dance can be a good thing. Worldwide it's probably more common within Catholicism than Protestantism.

Thats not funny at all, its horrible,

No, it is wonderful.

Worldwide it's probably more common within Catholicism than Protestantism.

Yes. Moritz. the Jewish protagonist of the appraised Promised Land book and film adaptation complains that the protestant church is too strict and threatening to him, so he prefers to visit catholic churches for mass service.
