Vasectomy in Poland is illegal? Why?

Ok I can deal with the fact that abortions can make one morally squeamish. Poland is after all a more traditional country than it's western neighbors. But condoms are not illegal and nor are other birth control methods so why is vasectomy illegal? I have been toying with the idea of getting one...But i don't think i wanna land up in prison. Rather have a ****** kid.

so why is vasectomy illegal?

Because then Polki will have one more question to ask.

Take a trip to China, they can't wait to neuter people there, then go back to Poland and what will they do then?

Take a trip to China

... only if you are interested in getting Hepatitis C or AIDS as a free bonus.

vasectomy illegal?

because it might be irreversible. And you are not allowed to make yourself harm even on your own demand.

you are no allowed to make yourself harm even on your own demand.

So abortion is ok (killing another) but getting a vasectomy for oneself is illegal?? Seems backwards...

No abortion is not ok. Abortion on demand is also illegal.

And you are not allowed to make yourself harm even on your own demand.

This seems totally stupid. On that basis then all contraceptives should be banned.

Why would anyone want to have themselves surgically mutilated (vasectomised) for the sake of debauchery with impunity. Makes about as much sense as silicone implants for air-head females. And going through life without progeny is a poor excuse for life indeed.

Oh, I thought it was legal, like much of the rest of the EU. Under what circumstances is abortion permissible in P-Land?

going through life without progeny is a poor excuse for life indeed.

Hey! Watch it! :p

Under what circumstances is abortion permissible in P-Land?

Only in 3 cases:

-mother's life or health is endangered
-the fetus is not healthy or the risk of it is high
-the pregnancy is a effect of a crime (rape, pedophilia)

Those 2 churches want to move closer so it doesn't come as a surprise to me.

Two churches? polish governent is not a church Sean ;P

On that basis then all contraceptives should be banned.

Why is it harmful?
Contaception is reversible so you can change your mind and have a baby. Vastectomy is rather not reversible so you possible can change your mind and what then?

The Catholic church doesn't allow abortions under those conditions? That's lame! I'm generally anti-abortion but it's a complicated matter. If the Catholic church takes an absolute position on it then I'm not surprised people jump ship.

I have no ide what the stance of CC is. We are not discussing religion here, sean but polish law.

Only in 3 cases:

Sounds reasonable enough.

Vastectomy is rather not reversible so you possible can change your mind

Yes it is.

Aha, on vasectomies? Tampering with the womb always struck me as odd. I've never really had faith in doctors. They tend to be weirdos who can never answer my hard questions. Not the brightest people in the world sometimes.

Vastectomy is about men not women, Sean.

Yes it is.

So it is fully reversible?

I know, the snipping aspect. Oops, not hysterectomy :( I don't know what Polish law says on it.

Why would anyone want to have themselves surgically mutilated (vasectomised) for the sake of debauchery with impunity.

Again an idiotic statement from the old timer.

Vastectomy is rather not reversible so you possible can change your mind and what then?

A reversible vasectomy is reversible...

Why is it harmful?

The side affects can be worse than the simple operation of vasectomy.

I don't know what Polish law says on it.

About removing womb?

The side affects can be worse than the simple operation of vasectomy.

About either really. It's never been an issue, nor will it be :)

You have no idea what your future will bring, so why be cocky about it?

It's not cocky at all, just a confident prediction :)

of useing e.g. condom? ;D

Condoms dont always work, they can split, when that happens sometimes you may need an abortion ;)
