Let`s bring it back:

Feniks suggested a lynx.

No.
hint - it also walks on all four like a lynx. it is aggressive when threatened like a lynx. it has fur like the lynx.

Feniks suggested compost bins.
no. in such a bin, waste would rot nastily instead of decomposing naturally. i don`t think i would find much pleasure in scattering such stuff onto the field later on... :):):)

Jon suggested a badger. Sorry, no. Mine is much smaller.

A kuna?

They're not rare.... I see one occasionally where I live (well inside city limits).

No shortage of them in the parks of central Warsaw.

My doggie used to like chasing them but they were always too fast.

If not kuna, maybe łasica.

Sorry, no to all your answers. I find it utterly amasing how short memory people have..... :):):):)

I won`t reveal it now but will wait till the weekend to post a photo of it.
The last hint: the farmer who cultivates the field next to mine had harvested his corn which had had a bad impact on the individual which I saw later on.

This mysterious animal was a European hamster. The corn field was harvested and ploughed before winter, probably the animal`s burrow was destroyed together with its grain supply. I put two dried cobs from my collection in the place where I saw the hamster.

As for the designation of metal barrels, I am still waiting for replies.

Another riddle:
Why did I remove soil from around that trunk???

Why did I remove soil from around that trunk???

To defend against beavers as commanded by Patriarch Tusk.

How does soil removal defend a tree???

Your attempt at building a moat to trap the beavers! You are only doing what The Patriarch tells you to do! :)

European hamster.

I don't actually remember you mentioning them before but I wouldn't have got it anyway. I tend to think of hamsters as pets :)

Why did I remove soil from around that trunk???

Are you going to put protective fencing around the trunk and want to fence it below ground level to stop rodents burrowing beneath it?

Exactly! That`s what I meant by saying that people have a short memory. :):):) I showed a lot of photos 5 years ago. Check the one below:

put protective fencing around the trunk

WOW! It is an amasing idea. Sorry, I meant sth else.
Hint:
what can you see in the direct foreground of the trunk pic???

  • dead hamster found in the fields

You're going to use the chainsaw to saw the tree down as close to the roots as possible? No stump remaining.

Wow!!! So fekking correct guess!!! Thanks! :):):)

I hate stumps. Feng Shui system which I try to stick to in our garden forbids any dead elements of once living organisms remaining near the house coz it spoils the good atmosphere.

I cut down an old plum tree which didn`t bear fruit and was an alien element in the birchwood which I am trying to create in one corner of the garden. In the background, you can see little birch trees which I planted this year.

Check out the result:

  • clean ground

Dying or dead plants and trees in the vicinity of a house can bring serious health problems for the residents of the house. Always be on the look out for dying plants and trees. If there is dead tree near your house make sure to cut it off completely. Stumps of trees facing either the front door or visible from the house can cause serious illness too.

You don`t believe in Chinese genius in creating such real life systems as Chinese Zodiac or Feng Shui??

I do coz they all hold water to an amazingly great extent.
Why?
Because the Chinese have had a lot of people and time to check out and prove certain correlations between various spheres of life. So, throughout thousands of years of their history, having a look at millions of people/ families/households etc, one day they came to the conclusion that a neglected garden full of dead trees contributed to health problems and possibly, an earlier death of its owner(s). In contrast, an owner who took care of his/her garden, enjoyed a long illness-free life.

Do you mean what I know now????????

Like sick building syndrome. It can make your life miserable.

Feng Shui

The Korean kind is easier to do and works well

The Korean kind

I prefer to keep wary about their systems coz you don`t know if they are northern or southern.

Northern is always nicer.

Jon, why are you using Polish names??

BTW, is kuna still marten in English?? In my youth I read a fascinating book about a Polish pirate whose name is Jan Kuna aka Marten.

That's where I see and hear about these creatures.

Pine Marten as I recall.

There's also wydra and chadra. They probably have names in other languages.
