I still maintain that blackfly are much worse than mozzies

The blackfly are a recent arrival
they did not used to be a problem in Poland, but by jingo they are now

and mosquito's drink what - sweat or eat skin, they are parasites but jeeze? Was that from the biologist aunt? You best get back to school on that one....

No need to be sardonic. Here is what some sources say:

Millions of people alive today will die of a mosquito-transmitted disease. Malaria alone claims some 1,000,000 lives a year in Africa. Other top killers include dengue, yellow fever, and West Nile virus.
But they won't die of AIDS. HIV-infected humans actually have very few virus particles in their bloodstream, and should a mosquito suck one up, it gets killed by the mosquito's digestive system.

I second that.
They bite pieces of your flesh off (not just suck your blood), and those bites itch like hell few days later.

They do not avoid fast flowing water and sandy beaches, and do not even try to do any gardening (without a net) where there is lot of dry leaves and grass.

Jak się mówi po polsku "cloud of mosquitoes"? chmura? tuman? obłok? (Dziękuję bardzo!)
PS: AIDS canNOT be caught from mosquitoes. If it could be, then every country in tropical Africa and Asia would be a depopulated charnel house.
