Gym etiquette in Poland

Hi everyone. I have a question for gym-goers. I started going to a gym in Warsaw recently and noticed that I seem to be the only person who cleans the machines after use. Paper towels and cleaning spray are provided but I haven't seen anyone use them, and I have seen people going from one machine to the next without cleaning the one they just used. I asked a Polish friend who used to go to the gym and he said he never even heard about having to clean the machines so I'm just wondering - is this widespread in Poland. Does just nobody clean the machines?

well no one cleans the machines in australia, we use towels. Do people use towels on the machines in Poland?

the only person who cleans the machines after use.

Cleaning before use makes sense but only if you are not wearing gloves or intend to lick it. After use - no reason since the next guy doesn't know if you did or not. If he doesn't give a damn, you wasted your time and effort. If he does, he will clean it himself.

Cleaning it for him is equivalent to wearing those idiotic masks to protect the unvaccinated.

In case you want an answer from someone who uses a gym in Poland

Few people do that. I normally do carry a small golf towel with me but I don't do the full disinfection thing and most people do nothing.

Rules may be different but all gyms and the logic of cleaning before or after are the same everywhere.

The only exercise you do is picking cucumbers out on the dacha. Then getting the balalaika out and singing about the great famine

But they are not.

Is this the best you can do to rebut my point?

Rich, you really need to get out more.

How often is good enough? I pump 6 days a week. Bike or walk 7 days a week unless it rains.

OMG now I didn't realize you were continuing the great Soviet traditions of weightlifting - budge smuggler shorts, a bad haircut and a steroid assisted training camp in the Urals with a bunch of bearded women every summer
