In California and many other states, people have doctor's papers saying it's legal for them to consume or smoke marijuana, because it's one of the few things that helps with nerve pain. Not much else does, except expensive antiseizure drugs and some antidepressants. I've known many people who cut their $2000 medication bill down dramatically, with the help of medical marijuana - because it works when used correctly.
yah but actually the 215 law is a joke lol. My dad believe it or not helped lobby alongside the grassroots efforts to pass prop 215. They made sure to leave huge gaps in it. It states that u can get a card for any condition the doctor deems that marijuana would b beneficial for. So basically if u want legal buds go get a 215 card. They cost about 100 buxx. Its how i get my weed here actually.
One of my buddies went in and said he couldn't sleep and paid 100 buxx to get one. He's 19 and perfectly healthy. Now he has access to bomby dank anytime we need it!215 is the ****!!! Amsterdam doesn't even have **** on cali weed!! I know ive been there. Its dank but not that gr8! any1 with a good hydro system can gro like they do in amsterdam

Rocky, I find it sad that you and your friend are abusing the drug law - it is definitely NO joke, for those whom it was intended for! At least acknowledge that mmj does help people who are in chronic, unremitting pain, 24/7 year round.
I have a friend whom I took to one of those 215 doctors, with his MRIs and doctor records. He has 10 conditions that he's suffered with for almost a decade, and was contemplating suicide to stop the pain, when I mentioned the mmj to him as an option. Even his own mother would rather he be dead than try it because of the propaganda (that's so sick and twisted). So I drove him. The doctor talked with him, and told him that he only needed two of his chronic conditions for a few years, to obtain the license - but with 10, she was shocked he was still alive, and said the program was definitely made for him!
So he's at $20 a week, he's been gaining his life back, and cut his regular drugs way down. Plus it's the FIRST thing he's taken, that has affected the nerve pain! After they figure out which type suits him best, it may go up to $30 a week (for pain free), but it's so nice to see him awake, and actually moving around!! Yes - the mmj actually has him active, seriously. I doubted it too, but from what the doc said, it affects nerve damaged people differently. He said he's starting to feel like he may be able to work a job again, and is vying for hopefully, pain free days.
Just sad people abuse it, but thank g*d people that really need it are being helped, and my friend didn't kill himself from the 9+ out of 10 pain daily. I'm going to see him tomorrow for a bit.
I think its a good thing its a joke! When it becomes ezier and more convenient to access people will be more up front about smoking pot. Showing that many potheads are in prominent and powerful places. I know a DA of a big city who smokes pot all the time. I know 2 doctors who smoke pot a few nurses even a CFO. I know lobbyists who smoke pot and lawyers... the list goes on and on.
Marijuana in time will move out of the reefer madness stage and into the tolerated stage once the baby boomers die off! Stupid baby boomers lol. Their generation has done some very terrible things
I do feel that it should be completely decriminalized, and treated like alcohol, as a DUI if you are wasted and drive. But otherwise, I've never had issues with wasted people.
Tolerance is needed, and yes; terrible things were done by the baby boomers, but no generation matures without mistakes. Just hope our generations can do it less costly - and stop tossing people into prison for marijuana related incidents.

Rocky, I do agree with legalization. That's just money better spent elsewhere, say on violent crimes, such as murder, and helping the poor! America looks bad to other countries, because we have people, and families living on the streets out here. Cali is ezee 2 u can have up to an ounce or 28 grams statewide and only get a 100 dollar fine. In some counties however there are more lenient laws with the most lenient being humboldt. If you are caught by the cities or counties police u can be caught with up to 4 ounces and only get a 100 dollar fine! Also in humboldt they usually let u off with a warning if ur just smoking or buying in small amounts!
Ive been caught prolly more than 4 times and so far no fine! They smashed my pipe and poured me weed on the ground and stomped it into the dirt though ='(. Cali is extremely lenient! Out in OC and Long Beach, you go to 215 specialist doctors, who want ALL your medical records to look over, including MRIs if available, plus the MRI reports. Normally costs $150, and you are NOT guaranteed the doctor's written suggestion for MMJ. Then, there's the '215 mmj card'.
Guess what?? It isn't regulated, and really doesn't exist as far as I know. Ergo, the doctors print out their own for additional money to their written suggestions.
Because these doctors stick their necks out, they aren't your typical doctors, hell no, Cash only, on the barrel, no insurance.

Also, MMJ people are allowed to grow their own plants for personal medicinal use, and have 8 mature plants.
There's a Doc in San Diego they are after right now, as a matter of fact, for being a rubber stamp for a 215 card business. Might even be Rocky's doc. Haven't kept up with it (moved away from SD about 6 months ago) maybe they caught him.
While the state of California won't come after anyone, it is, for better or worse, against Federal law, on those occasions the Feds come looking you are out of luck.
Personally, I don't think Marijuana is harmless (even though part of Mom's family used to grow it) but deregulation does tend to drive prices down, and drug dealers to other lines of work. After all, in the 1920's one could buy cocaine in his or her local drug store, cheap, and nobody was shooting each other over it. Coca Cola, for instance, was GREEN, and you guessed it, had cocaine in it (originally). No wonder it took off.... take away the money, and the criminal activity often subsides.

The rest of your post is irrelevant. All the trappings of California law have nothing to do with federal law. If California authorities are around, and you have your "card" you're ok. If federal authorities catch you-even if they are only park rangers (yes, National Parks are federal jurisdiction) your little bag of "legal" marijuana just skipped right over misdemeanor and became a federal offense with mandatory prison time if convicted. While it's possible someone with a serious ailment would be given leniency, you, my friend, would not.
Oh, and if you insist on calling people Morons, at least learn to spell first. You grew up here, presumably, and don't have any excuse for not knowing the language. People would take you more seriously when you called them names....

Also, do a little homework (outside of your accounting homework) on what laws have actually changed. There are politicians trying to scare you into voting out their opposition (and therefore, *THEM* IN...) by telling people all their rights are going away etc. etc. but if you corner them or look things up-your rights haven't changed a bit. They're arguing whether they can listen to Ahmed Mustafa on the phone in Afghanistan or not, once the lawyers find out he sometimes calls some guy in New Jersey. Enemy troops, even terrorists, have never had habeas corpus rights. You, as a citizen, always have, and still do.

If you consider it (there ARE former potheads serving even today with waivers) I suggest instead of talking to a recruiter who is under tremendous pressure to get people to join (careers and even families are ruined over recruiting tours I've heard) call a base and get ahold of someone actually DOING the job you might consider if you join. They'll give you the no BS truth, whether they like it or not, the who spill. You can make a better decision that way even before think about talking to a recruiter. It's something I wish someone would have done for me when I joined. I'm fairly happy what I do now, but I could have STARTED in this job.

I am for decriminalization, 100%. Treat it like alcohol intoxication, same rules: can't do it while ON the job, or driving a motorized vehicle (not even a boat).
Like what was said, that would remove the criminal element, and enable the mmj patients to actually be able to reasonably afford their medications. I've personally gone over the reports for the Four Federal MMJ patients, and it's amazing that the ALS patients are still alive and functioning! I've poured over research, and the different cannaboids, the active part, help so many ailments. Like Opiods, we have Cannaboid receptors in our brains. Together, those two drugs can just radically drop Chronic Pain below a 4/10, which is truly phenomenol.
Also, if legalized, people won't be putting Ajax up their noses or smoking horse tranquilizer, and perhaps save lives.
All I can point out, is that Grandma made corn whiskey and vodka during prohibition, and she wasn't a criminal. She had 3 kids, and none ever had a criminal record. Prohibition was wrong - and the War on Drugs is wrong, because the ONLY way to stop Drug trafficking is to: Decriminalize it!
My grandma also had a still at that time. They even had a player piano from the proceeds. Feds destroyed the still. Drug education is working in the schools. Are you thinking eventually curiosity will get to people. Get to the point of why anyone would need to take any drugs at all. Alcohal and cigarettes are not part of this either. Most illegal drugs can not be taken with moderation. Once taken, you are commited. Pot doesn't seem to be as bad though. So I do not have nay feelings againstit . Even though I would never use it . It seems to be more in the comparrison to alcohal.
