once you show some respect I'm sure your family of 4 would be quiet safe and even the jungles of Vietnam would welcome you.

hahahaha. now THAT'S some good crazy talk.

seriously, who are you referring to?? I mean, you're just throwing in your crazy random anti-american agendas willy nilly here. it doesn't even make sense.

you hate americans. i get it. now try to stay on topic.

I never insulted other nationalities like the author of this thread did.

I don't think, he really wants to insult any of you guys, he just got tired of hearing the same ole bs all the time, like "Poles are the best in ....basically anything". Again, self praise stinks.

They've lived most of their lives in the UK contributing more than the youth of today does anyway, they deserve their retirement in the sun

I hope they're spending their money on sangria, chorizo and calamares then instead of looking for British products in a Tienda de Inglés.

it doesn't even make sense.

Perhaps you lack a simple comprehension skill, besides I never accused Americans of being the sharpest bunch.

you hate americans

Do I? Your paranoia is clouding your judgment.

now try to stay on topic.

So what is the topic? Some more anti-Polish rant started by some dumb f*** Yank who can’t stand the heat once the debate changes course? Now go cry on your mums shoulder, ***** and moan how much everyone dislikes you to her, you won’t get sympathy from me.

Check his other posts, they're all of a similar nature.

Yes they are rude and ignorant, but we cannot blame them, years behind the iron curtain has had its toll.

I take that is your picture!! You are an exemplary specimen of the best the United Kingdom has to offer -polite, enlightened, mannered and civilized.

I like you already!

and then:

I like you already!

"Polish people and their culture are often times ignorant, rude and demoralized due to communism."

-Ironside, May 16, 2012

It's quite obvious why you "like the guy already", you clearly share the same opinion.

ShortAirThug,I understand that you're offended by Wizzard's (who'm I'm not so sure is American) post,But is it necessary to say such

crude things about Americans as a people? We are no different than people anywhere. It is true that there are a lot of Americans who

are ignorant of Europe and it's people,In some ways we are an Isolationist lot.I'm not referring to our government.I come on this forum

to learn about Poland and hopefully about Europe as a whole.I do not bash Poland or any country for that matter.Governments are a

different story.Just remember that other non jackass Americans read your posts.

Well, to have a fruitful debate is better no to quote posers out of context and in a different thread from one in which the original discussion occurred.

well, he has to know his countrymen (he's Polish), don't you think?

Are you foreigner in Poland or you are just a general standard foreigner?

Let's put it that way, I lived in Poland for a while and I basically agree with your statement.

I come on this forum to learn about Poland and hopefully about Europe as a whole.I do not bash Poland or any country for that matter.Governments are a different story.

LOL. You have to be kidding!

1. What part of my statement you find crude or offensive? Of course I'm biased to my own comment so please quote me on the part you find crude, show the errors of my way to the entire forum community by using the quote button, that's what's it for, use it liberally. As it happens my statement was rather conservative and polite, expressed in a gentleman like fashion. Perhaps it was just his lucky day as he caught me on one of my better days.

2. I understand you find my comment to be offensive as it is aimed at Americans (and intentionally so btw) that's expected but crude? Even the one that was deleted by the moderators was nowhere near that but it's their prerogative to do so. Perhaps you missed the one made by one of your own countrymen (the one you're not so sure of). It's ironic you try to teach me proper forum etiquette yet remaining mysteriously silent in regards to the comments made by one of your own, don't you think? Should I read more to it than it meets the eye?

3. I'm glad to hear your interests very and would like to explore a wider world, venture beyond your shores so to speak even if it's only through cyberspace and to separate yourself from the rest of that isolationist crowd. By all means do explore and enjoy your stay on PF. Must warn you though; do try to grow a thicker skin.

Just remember that other non jackass Americans read your posts.

I'm very well aware of that fact, so if you want me to heed your advice, take you seriously in the future and don't take you for just another American Troll I'll advise you not to take sides as it further reinforces my not so favorable opinion about your kind as it is. You can join the debate anytime you want and argue your point to your heart content if something bothers you but whatever you do don't encourage trolls by taking sides or be one yourself.

so explain to the forum how it was out of context and how what you said is different than what hudsonhicks wrote. yep, that outta clear things up.

Actually I have quite a thick skin,I was just hoping against hope that you weren't that narrow minded, boy was I lost, but thank you very

very much for pulling me up though:)As for teaching you etiquette;wouldn't dream of it.But I really do so want to learn your etiquette, will you please teach this to me,please? If it makes me a troll to respond to you in this manner, then guilty as charged.Oh My brain must

be warped because this is directed at you and only you,Oh well I tried,I guess I'm not a successful troll. If you want to debate sometime

let's debate I don't take sides,But debating to me does not mean constantly insulting one another,if not ;that's fine too.Now you know

where I stand.

I answered to your very specific question, by no means it could be read as a specific and accurate observation. You need to understand context, reasons and circumstances.

Contrary to opinion of poster I quoted who is making unlearned generalization. No all Poles are like that.
Although in Poland many things are not right there is valid and true excuse for all that.
What is excuse of the USA for its failings ? Tourist cannot wonder outside certain zones(or into shady neighborhoods) without fear of being killed for proverbial dollar.

That worse than third world countries. Whats your excuse >? No amount of polished manners and neighborly chit-chat can erase that !

.I do not bash Poland or any country

as most of us dont and still there are childish people who just want to get a rise out of others..
I see it as they still havent reached puberty if they find humor in making others upset.

sometimes people dont know when to shut up.

I dont have a problem with British, Irish, Scottish, Polish or any other nationality with a ish on the end of it , but I do

have problems with People who just like to hurt people for fun.

and as for this thread, the OP still ignored my response that Frank was not Polish , But Irish, so IT ISNT SELF PRAISE
In this case at all.. So Those who think so didnt pay attention, but that dont surprise me because it seems like theres alot
of selective eyeballing too going on in this forum.. yeah, I said it. bunch of EYEBALLERS YOU... lol

Ok, this is not true. I was in Poland one week ago and this was the first visit I did since 1997. The country has changed alot thanks to EU, but peoples mentality is exactly the same. My point is that Polish people are helpful, very helpful in all areas. You just need to ask them, and they will assist you in all matters. Polish people are laid back and proud of their country, and mostly if they want something they will work hard for it.Tell me a nationality that is not ignorant. Try speaking English with French people and you will see. Scandinavians have their own way of ignorance. I lived all over the world and some barriers that might be able to improve the ignorance are... 1. You learn the language (in this case Polish) 2. Take the custom & tradition of the country you are visiting or living in.

Koko spoko.... :)

Patrycia19,.I can say honestly say that I try not to antagonize and I definitely don't start out to,but I can also get caught up in the

nonsense.I like to debate,it's fun,if I do rise to foolishness I will usually try to catch myself and I don't have a problem with admitting

it and apologizing if it is needed.I really don't take things too serious.the forum for me is fun.Oh btw it's not selective eyeballing,

I need glasses lol;)

yep, and try speaking French with a Brit and you'll see. Old joke: how do they call someone who speaks 3 languages? Trilingual .. 2 languages ? Bilingual 1 language: British!

I have seen ridiculous examples of how ignorant Polish people are, in life experiences and in this website, by Polish people posting that Polish women are the most beautiful in the world, etc. (...) There is no reason for making these wild claims, like about Polish women for example; I have seen thousands of Polish women and they are not remarkable in beauty at all.

And what's wrong with having that opinion? Japanese thinks their own people look the best, so does Poles, Norwegians, Danes, Germans, Austrians, Russians, the Swiss etc. It has nothing to do with ignorance.

As for saying «Poland is not the best at anything», the country has first been run over by the Germans, than the Sovjets, and then been under the stranglehold of Stalinism and the communism that followed for decades, only to free itself in 1989. Many of the Western countries have had a head start. I think that if the Sovjet rulers would have withdrawn immediately after the war, Poland would be much wealthier than many western countries such as Spain, Greece, France and Portugal on a per capita basis. There are plenty of intelligent people in the country. They have, on a per capita basis, more scientific Nobel Prizes than e.g. Japan - which by most is considered country with a highly intelligent population.

You can't really say this about any race! There are problems in the education system and sometimes it doesn't encourage deep thought, but that can be said of the British education system and many other education systems too. Some people are interested in the world outside of home, work and leisure, some aren't. It usually depends on the social/educational status of people as to their level of ignorance, if you are only meeting people from one strata of society they may give the impression that an entire race is ignorant but when you meet people from a different strata your opinions will change. The problem is that in many countries people aren't actively encouraged to think about wider issues, it makes political/social control easier! based on the old Roman method of keeping the masses under control!!

Wizard .. I know you are probably suffering from gulf war syndrome .. but please .. put down the crack pipe and start taking your medication !

You offer nothing of any substance and really are just contributing further towards the trending belief and distaste for American ignorance.

You are an embarassment.

Ignoring the plain fact that English is the most popular language in the world doesn't make you very smart. Tell the world not to learn English !!!

I beg to differ... my friend (ssaid in the "posh" english accent, I thought that the most popular language on this Earth is Mandarin... English is spoken by a mere percentage, but only because Western culture is the most popular, because it controls all the media : Hollywood, TV, etc..
