Everybody in my family holds dual Poland and Germany citizenship and I'm not being granted a Polish?

I have a question regarding my Polish citizenship. First of all some background information:
I was born in Germany to Polish parents. My dad and everybody else in my family holds dual citizenship with Poland and Germany. My mom only has Polish citizenship, and I only have German citizenship. However, I was in the Polish embassy because I wanted to apply for my Polish citizenship to become a dual citizen of both countries. I have read on several government internet pages that a person born to at least one Polish parent, is a Polish citizen. For some reason however, I'm not granted citizenship until I "proof" that my ancestors 3 generations back are Polish and I have to write about what they did in their lives. These go back to the 19th century, I have no clue what they did. The funny thing is, I went to the embassy with my dad, because he had to apply for a new passport because his old one was expiring. So they saw at the embassy that my dad is a Polish citizen. Doesn't that proof that I'm a Pole? Everybody holds Polish citizenship in my family; my mom, my dad, my sisters, my grandparents, cousins and so on. All of them, but I'm a foreigner within my own family? I have also lived in Poland and went to school there (first grade).

So my question is just simply if there is anyone who knows anything about my case. Tips and information would be much appreciated.

I also forgot to mention that I do have a PESEL if that is of any significance to my case.

You have enough to become Polish citizen and provided with the Polish passport. (PESEL is relevant while getting passport)
I am in very same situation as you are. Your mother Birth Certificate should be sufficient, as it was in my case.


Never heard of such law/requirements. Unless the politicians in PL flipped.
Change the Consulate, ask to be seen by vice-consul. (you have the right for such request) And arm yourself with Polish Birth Certificates.

I've heard of that but not for people in his situation. If his parents are Polish citizens he should not have the problem.

It would probably be easier just to go to Poland and apply for an ID card. With the PESEL, should be simple to get one.
