maniak677 1 | 14 22 Jan 2014 #1Can I drive my wife's Polish registered car with insurance in her name in Poland on a British license ?
Harry 22 Jan 2014 #2I'm almost certain that you can (I would myself) but you should probably double check with her insurance company just to make completely sure (I'd hope to do that myself, once I got round to it).
Cardno85 31 | 973 22 Jan 2014 #3Yes you can, you can use any EU license to drive a car in Poland. Likewise using a Polish license in the UK (although it has to be a new Polish license I believe because the older ones were laminated and not very secure against forgery).
Harry 22 Jan 2014 #4you can use any EU license to drive a car in Poland. But checking with the insurance company that they don't have some pointless clause limiting insurance to only holders of Polish licences (which wouldn't be legal) would be best practice.
Cardno85 31 | 973 22 Jan 2014 #5You make a good point, insurance companies will do pretty much anything to get out of paying you what they owe.
smurf 39 | 1,969 23 Jan 2014 #7It's good to check with your provider. Before my auld lad come over for a visit a year or 2 ago I called mine to make sure too and they said it was fine so long as he had my permission to drive the car.
