Common practice when test driving a car from the sellers perspective

Hello,

I want to sell my car and I am looking for some advice regarding allowing the potential buyer to test drive the car.

Whilst I understand it is important when buying a car to get a sense of the driving experience, how can a seller manage this with minimal risk? My worry is an accident happening that, despite the car being insured, will reduce it's value.

I've read about asking for a deposit or signing agreement to say that the potential buyer will commit to purchasing the car in case of any damage but would like to find out what is the common practice here in Poland.

Thanks!

I wouldn't buy a car without a test drive.

Well, practically it has to depend on your personal judgement of the buyer. I was always allowed to drive when I was buying second hand cars which I prefer to new ones. The sellers trusted me coz I made a good impression on them, you know, as a reliable driver etc. Besides, .they saw I arrived in my old car.

However, before letting them drive your car, ask for their ID and write down the name and address.

Asking for ID is fine. Asking for a deposit would be a dealbreaker to most Poles
