Life / Disco Polo - No No No No No! [95]

It has its place at weddings. Cheesy and funny really. Usually danced to by the legless. Music for the simple really

Norwegian Black Metal is Satanic, it is by nature. Still, Dimmu Borgir and the like have written some good stuff. Not to keen on Gorgoroth tho. Satyrycon can be quite melodic. Symphonic Black Metal is the best

Life / Polish culture do's and dont's? [106]

Do's = Use ur elbows in queues, u know, just to announce ur presence

Wait JUST outside the lift and stand ur ground as the doors open

Charge onto trams as quickly as possible

Move onto the line of the person walking towards u. If they move, do likewise,
it keeps them guessing and the suspence going

Frown profusely as u hand over ur money and get ur change in a shop

Be sure to peer through those translucent windows when people are doin a no2

Ask for cheese in ur cheeseburger

My biggest don't would be not to ask for extra cabbage in ur hamburger

Just a few thoughts, I tried an Osioł-style posting and I think I failed. Ah well, at least I tried, LOL

If the poster really wants to know, I'll do a more serious posting as I've conducted many classes on the issue here in Gliwice

I have to correct BW, fart in the lift, it breaks the tension. Or stand on their foot and see their reaction

Filios1, let me make myself clear from the outset, that was a joke posting. I have had a positive experience with trams here, u know, free riding (na gape) n'all. Just kidding, I agree with u. My postings were a flawed attempt at humour

A few whiskies Szkotja2007 and u open many doors, u start sounding like Sean Connery. He'd be a legend here. Better than his English, don't **** on the sheet

Another do is to drink a shot of vodka in one gulp, do dna (to the bottom). It can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

Drinking Screwdrivers, vodka and orange. Pan Tadeusz from Zielona Góra is quite sth. It is one of those drinks that keeps its English name, not Śrubokręt or however it is in Polish. Not like Sex on the Beach which is sometimes changed to Sex na plaże.

Polish people, for all their meat eating, especially here in Silesia where people love rolada and kotlety, are not obese. They find ways of working off the calories, I think I know how, LOL

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

I know how it feels. Discipline is hard to maintain. Just blame it on a bad metabolism. My sister cracked me up when she said that her weight gain program was going swimmingly well. I come from a food loving family but I drew the shortest straw, hehehe. Nah, I'm not fat really but over 100kg's. Big-boned with relaxed muscle is how I prefer to view myself.

I think there is but that's not my field. These health care shops have all manner of supplements to aid metabolism and common ailments too

Life / The Polish Wedding - What is it Like in Poland? [338]

Gifts could be good vodka. A traditionally English gift would be appreciated. The Poles quite like tea so roll with that. Or a nice cutlery set straight from Sheffield

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

Sound advice would be to know ur contract, people have been tripped up on those niggling little provisions which have cost them. I've been a teacher for 3.5 years here, although I'm not at liberty to discuss my contracts.

Just came after having that? I know it's good but I didn't know it was THAT good, hehehe. Sorry, u wrote this in a very funny way

Oh, I forgot to add jalfrezi. Chicken jalfrezi is great. My favourite when I started eating Indian food was Chicken Dupiaza. How does Pakistani food compare to Indian?
