Life / 55 minutes to write a ticket ("mandat karny")? [28]

Whenever I got stopped for speeding a bank note of around 100 pln or just refusing to speak English usually got them on their way again.

Mikey its speeding, Its hardly a serious offence, I'm sure if you pass your test you'll do it.

Its a bastard now i live in an English speaking country (Australia) as the police actually do speak a strange b astardised version of English and will do you for 1 kph over.

They should give you the chance to send payment if you have a licence from another EU country, Also regarding swapping your licence for a Polish one, Good luck with that as they'll make it impossible, I drove on my uk licence for 3 years.

It could also be dependent on your visa, I know that here as i'm on a 4 year temporary stay visa i'm not eligible for an Aussie licence and just have to drive on my UK one.

Australia / Can My Polish girlfriend get a working visa in Australia?? [28]

Can he not apply for a working holiday visa?

Also if you're coming over here try and get an E457 visa and your B/F could be the defacto partner.

What line of work is he in? If he's on the trade shortage list then most prospective employers will sponsor.

Real Estate / TRESPASSING ON MY LAND IN POLAND....what can i do legally...? [119]

I drive a Prius and think eating meat is wrong, I then call people who eat meat and don't drive priuses uneducated and also like to feel like a rebel against the corporations. Global warming will kill us all in the next week or so and by not eating meat i'm actually single handedly saving the planet from a phenomenon that may or may not exist. If people continue to eat meat then they are just feeding the corporate machine which will kill us all. Vegetarianism is the way forward and you just can't beat a good nut and tofu steak as its one of the most masculine foods.

At the same time defecating into a bucket and sniffing it also helps increase testosterone levels.

Peter are you from America by any chance?

Law / Buying a USED CAR in Poland, my personal experiences and TRAPS to avoid !! [133]

An Australian complaining about buying a car in Poland, Oh the irony!, Firstly in Europe you get what you pay for and secondly they get sold for Market value. I bought a Volvo XC70 from a dealer here in Sydney, Its 3 years old and done 60k KMS and its spent months in the garage being repaired at my expense as the garage refuse to honour the warranty and Volvo say its not their problem, I've had a catalogue of electrical faults which on a 30k AUD car isn't acceptable. The dealers here are just as unsrupulous even through they are licenced, I bought mine from a volvo main dealer and its turned out to be rubbish.

Personally I wouldn't buy a car in PL after seeing the rubbish they drag into the country to repair and much prefer driving somethig with the steering wheel on the wrong side which has been maintained from the UK and I know where its been/

I've only really bought used BMWs and you can call any BMW dealer, give them the vin and they will fax you a copy of every service the car has ever had and work thats been carried out. Also Its always worth doing a HPI (REVS check in Australia) but i'm not sure if this exists in Poland.

Real Estate / TV Show looking for Expat Home Buyers in Poland [13]

dnz:
Looking to go back to PL soon and interested in buying when I get there.

Don't you hate PL?

I do but I hate Australia more, I've been offered a job on the same salary I get here in Sydney but living in Poland so it makes for a good lifestyle, Also my parents are getting old and need to be closer to them
