Life / nasza-klasa.pl - If you looking for your classmates or friends in Poland [95]

O

Mi pomoc !Couldn't find that from the link. I managed to get the school but I couldnt see the search tool for the surname.

There is the blue backround on the top. On the highest top right side it is written in white in smaller letter wiadomosci-profil-szukaj-pomoc-wyloguj, press the szukaj then follow the previous instuctions.

"Numer szkoły lub nazwa ulicy"

Name of school, number or the street.

I just got a message from a guy I was sitting with at the school beanch when we were 7 years old. He tight reabon from my hair to the chair once so I coudnt get up...that was fun to see him how he looks like now.

If some of you went to school in Poland even secondary you can find your klassmates.
If you have friends with whom you lost kontakt also you can find them by typing name and surname and the city. 3milions peopple are registered on that site so worth to try.

nasza-klasa.pl/country

Those who went to school will menage, others if are looking for polish friends you need to go on the right top in Szukaj-search, then in szukaj osoby write name and surname then miasto-city-write the city

Good luck!

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

JohnP- I am shocked about so limited time off. When I had my intervie for first job here in Sweden I stated from the beginig that I am planning a week holidays in June and two weeks holidays in August. I got the job and it was summer job. Plus at the end of the seson my boyfriend was turning 30 so I took another 3 days off. Now I work somwere else and planning a lot of trips, for next year 4 days in Krakow, 4 in Zakopane, 2weeks for the wedding plus our honey moon 2 weeks. After a year you entiteld to 25 days paid holidays and all the exta you want it si unpaid. I am sorry but that must be horrible like not bieng free, I am really surrprised!!

I can complain about Polish a lot, about English, about Swedish as well. People are diffrent. Yes and I think I complain a lot too :-). To just add to my previous opinion I know a lot of Polish living abroad for 10years and not knowing the language.

I was always amazed by the creativity of movies productions, talented actors and surprise how pure Americans can be poor. In my class they were few Americans learning Swedish when I was in Sweden 3month and they around 5 years on the same level. I think they are little shallow since they speak English and they didnt want to put any effort to learn the other language.

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

Before the war Polish magnats and Jewish were the reachest in Poland they own buildings casstles and USED the rest of population to work as a labour for not more then just soup....Germans started the war and commit the bigest crime in the world against humans. Engalnd, USA France all new what is going on before milions of people were dying every day in gas chambers(someone should do the trip to Aushwizt). Comunism influensed by Russia took Poland after war. Polish population was in slavery before the war, during the war and after...Who is guilty for all the lost properties, Germans? Other countries which didnt react earlier? Russia? Poland? All of them I gues.

Easy - if it was taken and that can be proven, give it back or compensate. No question.

Easier said then done, as you may noticed Poland bearly could look after it's people untill 2007. Poland dosn't belong to common whealth countries yet. The one who should companset for everyone are the one who coused the lost.

This did not make me mad, more sad. When I first came to this forum I asked if the Polish people look for us like we look for them?

In Poland we tend to idealize the life in USA, so do not take it bad. I am not concerned about you coming back Welcome!, but I do no see fear solution for boths parts like as claiming back properties. You can still prove me wrong...Well as I said I know exactly how it is to be imigrant, so you do not need to prove to me how hard it is to live in a country not knowing the language, not having family.

They worked very hard to rebuild their lives after having seen the country that they had been willing to die for taken over?

Those who left in Poland worked hard to rebiuld their lives after having seen the country that they had been willing to die for taken over and rebuild the country.

I think you are more mad at me cos of the statment of my 'easy life'in USA' then you want to convince me about your rigts to claim anything in Poland.

I am sorry, I have no I idea about live in USA for Polish imigranst after war(yep I know how it is to not know the language, I am going through it second time now...) Life in Poland for me in my childhood was always about the how wonderful USA is. I can imagine how it is too be in a strnage country, no having any money, not having family, not be able to go home.( I moved to England in 2001, when Poland was not in EU, I worked and for all the money I had to pay for school, very expensive for non EU member, or pay money for visas and the risk always was that you may not be able to go back were you visiting family in Poland)

traumatised by war, with no money

tramatised by war were all the people who went through war no matter if they were staying, or going and I am not saying who is more hero here just saying about the rigts to POlsh propertis, tell me more about it what would be your selution?

I must say I am glad my family did

Yeah, if it was me to make the decision which my grandparents made, I wouldn't probably get off of the track...but I wouldn't expect to get anything back what I left. As A Polish who lives abroad I can only contribute to my country by investing, buyin properties, spend my time there, visit beatiful Poland as much as I can, maybe go back when I am ready, but I do not want to get anything from Poland just for the point I am Polish.

All of my family can read, write and stand up for our rights.

All my family can too, I do not understand that point.

I will just say something but with my simple thinking ( I do not know much about history, didn't like the subject at school, it was all so serious, of course now I appreciate it.)

With all the respect Julie.

After the war, my granndpa and gramma were about to emigrate to USA. They just jump off from the track in last moment and stayed in Poland. They worked hard, they had to live with what they have left and made this their home. They stayed becouse they were Polish and I do not think that people who left,( whatever state their houses were shoud claim rigts for the properties). Julie I think the goverment wanted the money from you to restauret the buldings. You do not feel like maybe halping but how fear would it be among the people in Poland who worked there and rebiuld Poland now to let people who had comfortable life in USA take it back? Let me Know if I am wrong, this is just my opinion based not on the history knowledge but I am willing to hear other arguments.

Life / The Polish Wedding - What is it Like in Poland? [338]

This seems like something for me to write on.

Ussualy Polish wedding is for about 100 or over guests. Popular months june-czerwiec, sierpien-august, wrzesien-september. The months have common thing letter R in the name of the mounth. Notice taht the july-lipiec is less popular cos of lack of R in the name. It is not common to get married in may. Planning the wedding is big thing nowdays. In my city there no avilable receptions, photographers, videofilming companies for the next two years during summer times weekends. To buy a dress it is neccessery to have appoinment, there is a que. I am surrprise but that seem to be still common that very young people get married (19, 20 years old, next age is 25, before 30). It is not appropriate for a couple to live toghether without being married, but it can be stearotyp for others, I reffer only to my knowledge, expecillay cos I have been reading some polish wedding forum in order to plan my own.

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

Girls in Sweden are beatiful, but last time when we went to Poland I was stoned. The girls there have a style, they like clothes, a lot of them go for tunning sesion. The sale assistant, selling soaps looked glamorous. I think this style makes them more beautiful. In England girls are sometimes slopy during the weeks days. I stop careing if my shoes match the bag while living in England. There everyone is in the hurry.
