Life / Poles - the Nation of Liars? [478]

there's nothing wrong with blowing off some steam but yeah it could have been a lil more diplomatic.

Too bad i've 1st hand experience with at least one of those things... Ahh if only i'd known to bribe that doctor though, my arm would've actually been put in a cast (plaster) instead of the "try not to move it" treatment.

Life / Poles - the Nation of Liars? [478]

wow, i've been living here on and off for 6 years, and a nation of liars is not the description i'd have come up with. The red tape is crap, but have you considered hiring a secretary or personal assistant when it comes to these matters?

But about "waiting in line with the rest of the scum" hey bruv, you don't know who's paid what dues to whom. I admit that thoughts like that can creep into my head too, but yah gotta keep yourself in check. Read the poem "the red wheel barrow" sums it all up for me.

Whoa, Miranda's got slick cornered, I'm on the edge of my seat!

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

wow!

I guess i should thank every american i meet for the lightbulb. If it wasn't for the american guy I used to know I wouldn't be using the internet, and if it wasn't for that american girl i used to work with, why, i'd be speaking german, blah blah blah, why are present day americans so often, so quick to take credit for something some other INDIVIDUALS accomplished?

Leads me to believe they have done jack and **** but haven't figured that out yet.

*Scratches head and realizes almost everyone does that crap*
*Chooses not to edit post anyhow*

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

I don't think violence has to be the answer, but your pocketbook is a possible solution.

When Muslims in Jordan were upset with the cartoons depicting Mohammed (pbhn) (and don't start about that, this is just a very good example) they simply stopped buying any and all danish (or dutch sorry too lazy to check) dairy products. That was not a good situation for the dairy exporters to Jordan.

I know I will not buy any US or UK products due to Iraq. I just won't. Once the self contrabanded stuff i have wears out, it gets replaced with something from somewhere else.

If you don't like the employment situation then boycott. Target specific industries and stay firm. Reward the businesses you feel are respecting your country. Remember that

Politics is only the shadow cast by business.

The turn around has to start somewhere.

In fact it is fear of slavic superiority.

you may be on to something there, i think racism definitely has a "fear" aspect to it. Now fear of what is debatable, but you did make a good point (wittingly or not).

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

Buddy has opened the curtains and let the correct come shining through on his last post!

However now with big companies calling the shots, they've decided to cut on transport costs and get as many low paid workers into the UK as fast as they can. Hooray for government!

It's sad really that there are no jobs that pay well enough in Poland for the Polish, but plenty that pay much better in UK, Ireland, Germany and Holland.

Anybody see the film "Ghosts" about migrant workers? This phenomenon is actually increasing the disparity between classes.

Bottom line, it's not a healthy situation when loads of people have to leave there own country just for a fair shake.

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

Dear puzzler

Just a touch defensive aren't you? It seems your screen name pops up when someone discusses something even remotely negative and Poland in the same sentence, not all people are perfect Poles included-get over it.

What a nice difference in terminology - when it comes to UK, you call it 'the anti-immigration movement,;' when it comes to Poland, you call it 'many Poles ...who are racist.'

Well anti-immigration deals with not wanting immigration due to any number of factors, one of them being over-population.

Racism deals with attitudes towards others that depends solely on what race they are.

Spot the difference?

Now for your next lesson, work on your reading comprehension-i.e. i did not write all Poles are racist, I wrote that I've met many. It was a RESPONSE to the THREAD TITLE.

But I'll soften it for you so you don't feel defensive ok? I've met many people who have some attitudes that could be described as racist-that in itself did not make them bad people as i think everyone has attitudes in some way shape or form that could be described as "racist."

Ok feel better now? Need a cookie too?

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

I really can't get my head around the nonesense i just read^^^^

The Brits are very nice people.... ****** up when they drink and while on holidays abroad

And who isn't in that scenario?

I think the anti-immigration movement in UK is due to the fact there are over 60 million people on that lil island-seems a bit full doesn't it? C'mon that's a ridiculous number of people to be in that lil island.

In regards to the thread title, I've met many Poles in Poland and the UK who are racist, why would we even be debating that there is some magical race or culture out there that holds no racist beliefs. We're all equal, but we're also different. Accept that all people instinctively pick up on this.

Love / Polish Girls vs Russian Girls [813]

i'll admit it, i pressed "play" but c'mon what's with the crap bubblegum noise she's passing off as background music. Miss. watermelons (heavy on the water it seems) is just screaming tacky on this take.

Not just any foreigner, but only with you of course!

that is sublime sarcasm man.

Love / Polish Girls vs Russian Girls [813]

i don't know but if another pole asks me "what do you think of our women?" i 'm gonna go bananas.
gaaawwwd, i can't even decide where to begin with how stupid a question that is and all the crap sentiments that are loaded in it.

p.s. Polish ladies are cute (my g/f is the cutest) but Russians got sum'n sexy goin on that is out of this world.

Now upstairs, hmmm, can't say i've really clicked with too many of either, i got a rather shallow impression of the majority of ladies i've met from both countries (sad to say).

The whole religion thing and it being such a dictating force in the average polką's life can be a lil frustrating though. I'm not sure if one would encounter that living in Russia as the Russians i've met were all abroad.

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

as a reflex, i'm prone to be wary of any intimations coming out of israel or by isralis.

Does poland really need this? Why welcome a problem? In a world where every political entity does have sovereign right of its course, i have to ask what Poland could gain? Or is Poland desirable again and ripe for pickings at this stage in the game?

With the human rights abuses Israel and Isralis have managed to scoff at, surely the Polish Government could use these abuses as leverage to with hold any deals until Israel treats the Palestinians like equals. What a wonderful humanitarian and political play Poland could make on these tyrants dare i say facists(yes i did write that).

I can see how this will probably play out and Poland will have to play the role of yes man to the U.S. pressure, but simply due to the source of this issue I can only hope that the government will hold the principle of universality up to the Isralies and deny them any rights in Poland.

Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

yeah because it's only women and Polish ones at that who are hypocrites in this world.
So you had a bad experience, well guess what? It was your fault as you made the bad choice of being with this lass. Now if my relationship ever went tits up (like others have), I'd blame the one who needs blaming, and that'd be me.

The bit about religion especially gets me though, yeah only the ultra-catholic Polish girls are hypocrites when it comes to ethics, values and morals. "Sarcasm off."

Love / Why do Polish women prefer foreigners for boyfriends and husbands? [418]

good lord, what incredibly lazy thinking on behalf of the thread starter.

as a foreigner your outspoken (lazy) thinking makes it that much harder for the rest of us; try to be a lil more thoughtful than the stereotypes you project.
