Genealogy / What are common Polish character traits? [417]

here are some Polish traits....think of any trait from any other person from any other country in the world, and Polish people do that too, because at the end of the day, everyone, no matter where they are from or who they are are capable of being villians, or heroes. can be good cooks or bad cooks, can be truth tellers or liars, can be hateful or loving, can take things or give things, can be horrible or nice. lazy, or hardworking, everyone from anywhere can be these things.

You want to know the only difference between Polish people and the rest of the world?
Polish people are the only people in the world who......

....are Polish.

Genealogy / Bronisław Knuth (Bronislaw) [7]

so 11 years after this thread was made, i got recommended a TikTok video in Polish. I don't speak Polish, but i have polish family. and it got me curious about the meaning of the Polish name my grandfather wanted to give me when i was born. ADHD is a wonderful thing lol. So i googled 'polish name meaning Bronislaw Romeo Ludwig Knuth' and this forum post was the top result. and what do you know.....

user @ beany0793 is my cousin Sabrina. Trudy was my mum. and the Bronislaw she mention was mine and Sabrina's grandad Bruce.
Not only that but
user @ sylwek610 is our cousin Sylwester Borkowski that Sabrina mentioned as well.
and also i think user @steveinuk is my cousin Steven, my mums brother Martin's son, and i don't think Sabrina realised who it was when she posted to him here, as we all are connected on Facebook. I think this may have been cousin Steven just trying to find out about the family.

But man its a small world huh.
wtf were the chances that i would end up finding this random thread just from googling that polish name cuz of a random TikTok?
I never knew was that my gramps' name as i always just new him as Bruce Knut, and if the OP is related that makes sense as to why grandad wanted to add Ludwig to my name if that was grandads fathers name.

If anyone else finds this from the family, just know we are all on Facebook, Sabrina and Slywester and Steven are in my friends/family list on there as are a lot more of us cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters.

Sylwester got in contact years ago because he was making a family tree on myheritage. So defo give it a look. Its amazing to see how many people you could be connected too through ancestry, and find out about the lives of the people who without, we wouldn't exist. And how they connected and met and the things they went through and the lives they led.

Because wo knows, in decades people may be looking us up instead and find out they are related through us as well.
