What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1694]
EU needs to introduce the harshest sanctions possible. Not the current "some individuals, some companies, some goods in some time with some loopholes left" approach, but sanction everything right now. Total trade and logistic blockade of Belarus, complete embargo, no business whatsoever in any industry and walks of life.
And it's not just Belarus that needs to be sanctioned. No way this is happening without some approval and/or support from Russia - punish them too. Sanction all the countries, airports and airlines involved in this.
Yes, it will cost EU money, but it's time to realize that safety and well-being are not free, not when you have neighbors like Belarus and Russia. We are under attack, and defense does cost money. And the longer it is tolerated the more expensive it gets. Act now, help Poland.
For those worried about "sanctions only hurt Belarusian people, not the regime", EU can make it easier for Belarusians by giving them more opportunities to escape the sanctioned totalitarian zone that is Belarus. And in the long-term, Belarusians will only benefit from destroying the regime.
As long as the EU authorities are unwilling to act, they create hell for the Polish and Lithuanian border guards with their own hands.
Lukashenko not a problem only for Belarusian people anymore, he's a a threat to the whole Europe. He must be stopped.
But of course this will NEVER happen. Merkel is in love with that juicy Russkie gas pipeline, so nothing will be done. It's always about the money. German media will start propaganda how fascist Poles beat innocent women and children once **** hits the fan.
