Genealogy / Last names are Wasiewski and Waleryszak [3]

It said so on his Ellis Island certificate so maybe there was a mistake (I think the part of Poland he came from was under the rule of the Russians at the time.)

Genealogy / Last names are Wasiewski and Waleryszak [3]

Hello, I'm from the US and my great grandfather was born to Polish immigrants. His paternal last name was Wasiewski and his maternal last name was Waleryszak. His father was born in a small village called Koziebrody but I don't know where his mother was born. Are Wasiewski and Waleryszak common last names and what regions are they the most found?
