Life / The climate for gardening in Poland [153]

Coop, why are you suddenly talking about Serbian influence?? P:):):):)

"Many things can be gardening in White Garden of Poland. Planting the curing Serbian influence is one of them." - those are not my words. I think it's some bug from moderator... I recall there was a post from someone else here, but now I don't see it

We already have one first cropped and many are coming :) We plant zucchinis in the end of april in flower pots, then replant them when its warm at night. They grow well until october

Do you plant zucchinis? I do, but due to hot weather there's no fruit yet... Many things can be gardening in White Garden of Poland. Planting the curing Serbian influence is one of them.

Where did they come from? You have a pond near? I thought you're living among fields... Btw, would you please tell about your neighbors? Do you suffer from neighbors dogs barking at night? I do a little :)

Life / How much money to comfortably retire in Poland (a married couple)? [57]

you'll pay 18% tax on everything

No, if there's an agreement between Canada and Poland about preventing double taxation. Which I believe exists

The cost for electricity is 0.15 euro cents per 1KW/h. Not much.

The gas is cheaper than, for example in France, Spain, Italy and other EU countries.

Name a country in Europe with cheaper life and similar standard of well-being ...

Life / What income/assets and worth, will give you a "rich" status in Poland? [22]

buy more land around my farm within the distance of at least 500 metres. I plant a lot of trees and watch the forest grow.

I think you know that you can't just buy agricultural land and make a forest of it )) You'll have to FARM it according to its purpose. Like, if your plot is a cropland - you must to crop a field with wheat and so on.

(sorry. i had to cut you message, there's some strange rules about quotes...)

Real Estate / What do rolna-budowlana land means? [7]

As far as I know, there's a building plot (budowlana) or agricultural (rolna) land. But on otodom.pl I can see some "rolna-budowlana" plots. What's the difference between them? Can a EU citizen buy rolna-budowlana plot?

Real Estate / Dzialki - allotment gardens regulations in Poland [27]

@pawian
Thanks for your opinion and answer!
If I only speak Polish, I'd search this in polish... I'm not sure this topic discussed in English much... As for source of that "rumor", I'll ask the guy who told me so (he's from Belarus btw, hehe) to give me some proves...

Merged:

Having a garden on "budowlana" land in Poland

I've read that one can have a garden (i'm talking about vegetables) a coop and so on ONLY on agricultural land. And that Poles hide their garden beds with tomatoes etc. behind the house. The penalty for this is huge fine/

Is this true and there's such law?
If it's true - how strictly this law observes?

Yes, they are sunflowers but I stopped growing them this year because the soil in the area isn`t good for them

My experience says that's it's about the quality of seeds and especially in their sort (there are ornamentals just like flowers)

Gardening is cool. And yes, Poland seems so close to Lithuania, yet I believe that to south of Warszawa starts next climatic zone, much warmer )

Hi! we don't have public pipe (as we live 25 km away from Vilnius), so it's just our own well.

But in this fall I'm planning to move to Poland, somewhere near Warszawa and plant my garden there ))
