News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

It's the other way around....Germany and Poland under Tusk had been very close.

What a surprise.... Tusk was hand-picked by Merkel to manage her eastern province.

He knew which side his bread was buttered and always managed to stand up for the EU (Germany) against Poland whenever there was a dispute.

do not say anything of the kind in Poland unless you want people to think you're mentally imbalanced.

Any rational person would reach the same conclusion as me.

Here's a picture which says 1000 words.

The PO-PSL government created the Miller enquiry which was a joke.

A later enquiry found otherwise...

Ask yourself why won't the Russians hand over the black boxes nine years after the crash.

Do you remember what Ewa Kopacz said about the victims bodies and the subsequent discoveries when the coffins were examined?

It is a huge coverup.

Here is a picture of a plane crashing in a forest:-

upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/Katekavia_Flight_9357_crash_site_%28from_MAK_report%29.jpg

Notice that the plane did not split up into 1000's of pieces scattered over a large area.

Apparently (according to the Russians) the TU-154 strikes a birch tree yet breaks up into a million pieces scattered over a square mile

Maybe someone here can engage their brain and think for themselves about the likelihood of the Russian version being correct.

What would the Russians gain?

Putin did not take kindly to Lech Kaczynski's 'intervention' in Georgia

foreignpolicy.com/2016/04/08/the-ghosts-of-smolensk-poland-kaczynski-russia

and sought his revenge. His ally Tusk was very pleased to collude once it was pointed out that Komorowski of PO would replace Kaczynski of PiS as president.

it was completely reckless and unforgiveable that they had so many top military figures on one single plane.

It was also an irresistable opportunity to bump off so much of the Polish elite in one fell swoop.....

Please explain how a single birch tree can a cause a large aeroplane to disintegrate into a million pieces over an area of a square mile....

and why the Russians are still hanging on to the black boxes, and why the Polish authorities handed over the complete investigation of the crash to Russia.

I believe that there is only one cultural power left in the world anyway, and that is the USA.

The only cultural power in the world is Islam. No one can stand up to it.

Islam splits the world into two divisions:-

Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb

thoughtco.com/dar-al-harb-vs-dar-al-islam-250224

and you can see Dar al-Islam gaining ground everywhere (apart from Poland - at least for the time being...)

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

Soviet Union won WW2

According to the Russians, when did WW2 start? Only after they fell out with Nazi Germany, did they become 'allies'. Like Nazi Germany they invaded Poland in September 1939 and soon afterwards murdered 40,000 Polish officers in Katyn. With 'allies' like that who needs enemies. And yet who provided the fourth largest armed forces in Europe against Germany.

From a modern day perspective it's fairly accurate to say that Germany won WW2, after all the EU should be considered as Greater Germany.

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

Allies or not, by D-Day, the war was over and it was so thanks to the Soviets who had no choice but to fight it.

Those nice Soviets who during Warsaw uprising of 1944 just camped on the east bank of the Vistula and laughed as the Polish forces fought the Germans and would not even allow US planes to drop supplies to help the Poles. If the Soviets had helped, the Germans would have been defeated much more quickly. In any case the AK did play a significant part in defeating Germany, it wasn't just the Soviets alone, a fact that is almost unrecognised in the teaching of the history of WWII.

as creating ghettos and living in one should be a reason to be ashamed.

The UK is becoming a nation of ghettoes. I'd much rather live in a Polish ghetto than a Pakistani ghetto.

Where I come from, if you see a white person in the street they are likely to be speaking Polish. The English have all left.

Wonder how well you will do after you are forced to pay war reparations for destroying Poland during WWII.

You can say it as many times as you like, but it is not up to you. Germany destroyed Poland during WWII and unlike most countries which Germany destroyed, Poland has never received a penny in compensation.

Kaczynski is currently adding it all up and will be presenting a bill before too long. Current estimates are $850 billion.

to the President's head and told him to sign the application to join EU for the sole purpose of Germans exploiting Poland again.

And everything was going so well when Merkel picked the German Prime Minister of Poland to head the EU, but he hadn't managed to get Poland to adopt the Euro before he left so the BundesBank does not quite have as big an influence as was initially hoped for.

News / Pawel Adamowicz, Gdansk mayor, dies after stabbing [354]

Comments after the stabbing from certain "patriots". Disgusting..

I agree.

I know Adamowicz had some skeletons in his cupboard, but there is no place for violence on the political scene, and no party should be making capital out of this brutal murder.

Whilst the sort of people making these comments are people I might ally with politically (ie right wing) , I would very much distance myself from the sentiments expressed.

The charity event he was appearing at has.... not been popular with the government

Maybe because Jerzy Owsiak had been pocketing quite a bit of the proceeds from WOŚP...

It's just sad to see how someone would believe in a random Wordpress page over the actual audited accounts that have been accepted.

There's more....kontrowersje.net/tagi/z_oty_melon

My Polish is not brilliant, but I'm sure it says something about Owsiak being found guilty eight times of breaking the law and hiding invoices...

Hence his huge popularity and being re-elected several times.

Don't you find it strange that he wasn't even endorsed by his own party at the last election and chose to stand as an indepedent?
