Australia / Software professional moving from Poland to Australia - good idea? [5]

It really depends where in Australia you locate yourselves. You could probably command a combined salary of 200,000 before taxes if you have a reasonable amount of experience. An awareness that they will try to lowball your salary because you are a foreign is to be expected - that's what negotiation is about.

Make no mistakes though, the cost of living is higher. And if you locate in Sydney, buying a home will be a lifelong commitment to a mortgage.

I'd suggest homely to get an idea of accommodation costs.

Work / My experience leaving Canada and going to Poland to find a job [19]

Yes, my question was general intentionally, I thought it might be good to get an overview of the entire working experience inclusive of local and international companies. A thread were everyone can share their experiences respective of the location in Poland, company form, etc.

Typical Work life in Poland

I am fairly new to this forum and I am unsure if this is just filled with trolls or actual people - apologies if that offends anyone.

I am wondering if you would like to share your experiences with working in Poland, whether it be what office life is like, the general disposition and temperament of people, culture, etc.

Maybe you are a foreigner and you could share the differences you've noticed when comparing to your home country, good or bad.

Life / My Last Link To Poland Died - Why Leaving Poland Was My Best Decision [249]

I am in the opposite situation to you. I'm from New Zealand and will be moving to Poland in a few months to work in an IT job. I am not a Bangladeshi immigrant like your husband but a native of New Zealand of British/Scottish descent. While NZ is safe and has a lot of good things going for it, the amount of immigrants in that country from India and China is ridiculous and is one of the reasons why the cost of living (mainly centred around housing) has become unsustainable. I would have stayed otherwise.

Hope you are happy there.
