As has been clarified many times, Europe has spent more cash and sent as many weapons as the US. And don't forget other democracies like SK, Japan and Australia.

The one piece of leverage the US does have is intelligence capabilities. So they are playing this card for all it is worth, but they have overplayed their hand this time.
