Law / Help regarding Poland's National 'D' Visa Appointment at Mumbai Consulate! [719]

@Nethra

I had a appointment for National type D work visa at Mumbai consulate recently. Yes, I had a interview with the consulate. He asked me various questions related to my work and experience. So be prepared for the interview. There was a girl for Internship who had a interview as well. AFAIK, interviews are all based on case by case.

Good luck

Law / Help regarding Poland's National 'D' Visa Appointment at Mumbai Consulate! [719]

@DominicB
My intention was not to fool the embassy and get banned. I know how embassy work and how strict they are with the documents. As in the consulate website, they say that they don't want the applicant to buy the actual ticket and they only expect a reservation, I have contacted the airlines directly, not the travel agencies. The airlines said the mentioned service was not available anymore, so I have approached the travel agencies if they can provide me the itinerary. I need to find someone who can provide me the genuine itinerary.

I have contacted my HR and asked the same question and her reply quote " You have letter of intent- it says that it will be regular employment contract so it covers insurance from first day of work."

Now im confused. Where can i get the insurance? Can I do it online?

@ImHarrykrish

I have contacted few airlines and agencies and they all replied saying they cant provide a itinerary without completely booking the ticket with money. But i have got a itinerary from some agency but he says, within a day this ticket will be cancelled by the airlines and If in anycase embassy cross checks for the PNR number, it wont be shown.

My question is..for work visa, does the embassy cross check if the ticket reservation is valid at that point or not?

@Abhian
Hey just a quick question..

I have seen in other threads, someone saying for work visa all these documents are needed, work permit, offer letter, insurance and covering letter from the company to the Consulate.

I do not have a offer letter from the company. I just have a Letter of intent(Contract) and Work Permit with the stamp.

Also as my work permit is a type A, HR from my company said the work permit itself covers my insurance for 2 weeks and as soon as I start the job in Poland, I will have the private insurance covered by the company. Please correct me if the info is wrong.

So, do I have to get the insurance again, and what about the flight reservation. How do you manage to get the reservation without actually paying for the ticket?

Everyday I check the website from 9am and keep checking it every hour. I saw the slots Dec 4,5,6,7,8 for one week they were available. Strange how you didn't find it. Try checking it everyday at 9am. They mostly open the slots on Wednesday AFAIK, if you are lucky, some cancelled appointments will be available for you. Good luck

Hey,

I have called up the embassy to ask the same queries, the lady asked me to visit the bank and deposit cash/DD and then visit the embassy for the appointment. She also mentioned she will let me in if I will come before 1 p.m. I have my appointment at 10:20 and bank opens at 10:30. So, she told me she will let me in until 1 p.m.

Which city are you travelling to? is it a work visa?

Law / Help regarding Poland's National 'D' Visa Appointment at Mumbai Consulate! [719]

Hey,

I have a appointment at Mumbai consulate on Dec 4th. I'm confused about the visa fee as to where and when I have to pay it. I will be reaching Mumbai from Hyderabad on Sunday. Where and how I should submit the visa fee and any bank will give me a DD in favor of Consulate General of the Republic of Poland

Also, I have seen everyone commenting that they have collected it their passport. As I will be travelling back to Hyderabad, once my visa is processed, Do I have to collect it again from Embassy or will they mail it to me?

Thank you.

Work / Salary for a senior software engineer in Poland [195]

Hi, i'm from India, and have 4+ years of experience in IT. I have been offered a job in Gdansk with 6500zl gross. Also one way flight to Poland as a relocation package. As I understand, its not great amount considering I'm getting well paid in India at the moment. Is it a good amount to survive in Gdansk, as I read the cost of living in Gdansk is cheaper compared to other cities in Poland. Also, It would be great if someone can give an average time it takes for a company to get the work permit.
