Why would they lie about him, in the same way they lie about Putin?
Putin scares them. Putin represents what they hate.
Tusk is their Golden Boy. The "human" face of Poland. The European bureaucrat, and champion of liberalism.
So when they write not good things about him, it tells me Pan Tusk is making many unforced errors.
When reading about Tusk, you accept everything what they write
Why would they lie about him, in the same way they lie about Putin?

I don't read Polish press, except on occasion. Everything I know about your situation is through Politico, FT, Spiegel-type places.
For example, this week, the Financial Times "Big Read" was about Tusk. Even the English are worried, if he's being driven too much by vengeance.
Look at this headline, and tell me I'm imagining things:

They are not idiots, instead they see that their government is displaying to the whole world that they are idiots.
No matter how much I hate Poroshenko, I could never imagine him debasing himself like a dog in the manner in which Zelensky is doing it.
What's more, Tusk is the last person in front of which you want to get on your knees.

Can you imagine the President of Mexico, sending his entire cabinet of ministers to the US border, to urgently plea with Biden to reopen it? No.
Can you imagine the president of Mexico sending the highest ranking delegation possible, even after Biden told him he sees no point in meeting, and that he will not be sending anyone?
I think even Mexicans have enough self respect not to do that.
When Donald Trump announced that he will make Mexico pay for a wall - this was the response of Vicente Fox:
"I'm not going to pay for the f**king wall," Fox said. "And please don't take out the f**king full word."
Bottom line: if you believe you are right, stop acting like a b*tch.
For the benefit of Ukrainian voters who can see that their gov is doing sth and working on the problem.

Before this war, there was sense in obfuscating the reasons behind those killings.
Now, when we are gonna nuke each other any day, what's the point?
Any intelligent person understood that it was Russia liquidating those persons anyway.
The message is for an internal audience. If you want to go and sell Russian secrets to the Brits and Americans, be prepared to die.
If you are willing to kill fellow servicemen, and deliver expensive Russian military kit into the hands of Ukrainians - be prepared to die.
This should make the calculus for any would-be traitors fairly straightforward.
When people say that this is how the mafia operates, but not a European state... I want to ask why then do those Americans and Israelis behave the same?

The murders I put under "Putin" are the "traitor" murders. Perhaps, let's call them assassinations instead.
The defector helicopter pilot killed this week in Spain. Litvinenko, Skripal, Prigozhin, etc.
These seem to really have his trademark about them. As a former officer, who takes his oath seriously, these people are less than scum in his eyes. Especially the helicopter pilot, who managed to even kill two of his brothers in arms, because they didn't want any part of his plan.
Some other murders or assassinations, were clearly clumsy favors done for him by the Chechens. The murder of Anna Politkovskaya. The murder of Boris Nemtsov. The murder of Yuri Budanov.
To me, these were obvious instances of Ramzan running wild. He's young, impetuous, and pretty stupid - and also has the character of a Rottweiler. Fed essentially from birth by Putin, he sees in him some kind of father (it doesn't help that Putin's enemies killed Ramzan's father). Putin's enemies, are Ramzan's enemies. Unlike the old man, he feels he's more capable of solving problems in quick and efficient manner.

But to kill him? To cut short, everything that he could have been?
That's perhaps a little bit out of bounds.
He was no saint, and he had many flaws - but they did everything to make him into a martyr.
