Genealogy / Despirate to find records of Polish POW held in Stalag XI-A from 1939-1945 [4]

Merged:

Polish POW transfer from Russians to Germans 1939

old family records state my dad was captured by Russians in 1939, held for a while in Lagiers then there was a prisoner exchange in Hannover, Germany in 1939 or 1940 and dad went to Stalag XXA , the first of many Stalags . I can find no information online about this prisoner exchange. It must have been a big deal involving many POWs. Does anyone have information on this exchange?

Thanks Roman

WWII Exchange of Polish POW's 1939-1940

Family history says my dad was in a prisoner (POW) exchange, Captured by the Russians in late 1939 and in Lagiers then transferred/exchanged to the German and then in Stalags starting with XXA in Thorne. This POW exchange happened in or near Hannover, Germany in 1939 or 1940. I am not seeing the exchange by simple internet search. Anyone have more information, it must have been significant?

Thanks

History / WWII fighting in Breznany, September 19,1939 [3]

Does anyone have any information on a battle/skirmish in Brezany on September 19, 1939. Red Cross papers show my Polish father captured there and supposedly captured by Soviets. I once saw reference to a minor fighting there on the internet but lost it, I would love more information.

Thanks

Genealogy / WWII Polish Military information / WWII artillery units [24]

I learned more today on this site than months on Google. Thanks Grzegorz_

Merged: WWII artillery units

Hello
Can someone tell me the relationship between the 3 WWII artillery groups below ? I think they are similar

2 Dywizjon Artylerii Przeciwlotniczej
29 Pułk Artylerii Lekkiej
Artyleria Przeciw Lotnicza

And what would the initials "wyd." stand for when used as "Grodno (II wyd.) when speaking of mobilization materials

Thanks

Genealogy / WWII Polish Military information / WWII artillery units [24]

I have several documents stating my late father military assignment during 1937-39 when he was captured was Gunman 2 Air Division A.P.L. and 2e Regt. artillerie. He stated he fired 75mm cannons. What is the A.P.L.? and can the assignment be determined if in the air force or army? Is there anywhere to get his military records in Poland?
