Life / Polish films... where to find them? [51]
i will give it a go, i watched a few films last year with subtitles about the Korean war, they were so good i was convinced to buy the film in russian with subtitles, i think it was called 'Company 6' or something like that, about the Russian occupation of Afghanistan
P.S. is there any links you can give me so i can watch it in subtitles??

nah i never liked those polish films either, i'm happy with the British and American ones. I can't remember the last Polish box office hit :)

yeah i would have to agree with you there, i think i would walk past hime with my back to the wall :):)
now now when did i say all Poles?? can you remind me please, maybe you could quote when i said that!!!!! I was pointing out that in Krakow compared to my local city, there were a lot more skinheads (Which stands for the style of haircut) than there are in my city.
Hope that sorts it out, i guess i will be labelled a 'Pole' basher for ever no matter what i say

what strikes me about the picture of Poles is that they look like a 'neo mazi' group. Look a the way there dressed, look at the haircuts, lol, straight out of the stereotype :).
I bet you if you were a woman walking home at night, you'd cross the road if you saw those guys walking your way, lol. At least you could walk past the British guy :). I know i know i know there are skinhead British guys, having been to Poland (Krakow) i have never seen so many skinheads in all my life. I can't speak for the rest of the country of course but there were a lot of skinheads in Krakow compared to, say, Plymouth.

I'm punting for the 'saving money' option, I guess if there is less money needed for hair care there is more money for other stuff. Kind of makes sense if you think about it!

we use panties, well i do anyway, i don't think it is in the dictionary but can be useful. I mean its better to say 'come and sit over here and i'll slip your panties of' rather than saying 'come and sit over here and i'l slip your knickers off' i don't know what it is, the word panties sounds a bit cleaner and more acceptable than knickers to me :)

yes you forget though, the Russians took it back!! The Polish had to be liberated :)
well i'm a big fan of the Canadians and Poles that flew in the RAF and a big thanks to them, its not like they just joined for no reason though is it, lol, they had just been flattened by the German blitzkrieg, they couldn't wait to have a go :). To say if it wasn't for them joining is the difference between winning and loosing, don't be so silly.

If you think about the amount of time we have been at war now in Iraq and Afghanistan you would expect a few more accidents. So to say that the Americans and British do this and make it sound like they are useless you have to look at the time scale and logistics of the whole operation.
Con, within the same time yours lost territory much bigger than the whole Poland. Besides It's not easy to fight when one is attacked from every side.

Weren't 9 British soldiers just killed by a British Apache helo?

If you think the things i say are offensive or that i have a superiority complex or whatever you want to call it, then you can think again.
I don't need to start a debate about Mods, i don't really care about their activities and to be honest whatever they do dosent seem to affect me as i don't care if people are banned, warned, suspended. The only thing that gets me is when they continually change things about the website, colour, allignment etc etc.

LOTS OF PEOPLE DIED IN THE WAR SO THAT IT COULD BE WON!!!!!. British, Soviet, German, Italian, Polish, Americans, the list is endless. Trying to claim that the Poles did this and did that, what does it matter who does what??? it is called 'the war effort'. For a country that slags of the Russians so much you might want to take a page out of their book. After you lot had laid down to the Germans having suffered what can clearly be assessed as needless and countless loses, the Russians in the same situation stood up to be counted and if there were two countries that changed the direction of the war, it was actually the USA and the Soviet Union.

i would agree with most of the sentiment shown on this topic, there is a bit of 'enjoyment' at others expense and also the Polish as a breed specialise in being selfish, not that they go out of their way to upset or put out others but life is all about 'self self self' they don't mind how they get there, who and what they use to get there as long as they do it.

i totally agree, i can't stand people who teach english that don't speak the language properly themselves. I have always been interested in teaching english abroad, Poland would be one of my first choices as i already teach a number of people basic everyday (what i would call usefull) english. I've always thought you have to be a teacher lik Seamus??? am i wrong??
