Work / English lad looking for work in Poland [39]

Pam, I respectfully disagree with you. Several of my Polish friends in England got construction jobs in London but they don't speak English at all.

I was able to speak Polish conversationally after studying it for less than half a year (though I did read my grammar books 5 hours a day which is a bit long) so I think Anto will be okay)

Language / Polish or any Slavic language key to any other Slavic languages? [126]

I agree that Polish has similar words to Russian. It's a bit confusing actually because when I am talking in Russian for some time then I have a difficult time talking in Polish because I keep saying the Russian words :/

Love / What do you like most about Polish men? :) [51]

I do not think that all Polish men are the same since everyone has their own personality, but in the past I did have many Polish male friends. They were very friendy, relaxed, and simple people.

Love / What do you like most about Polish girls? :) [90]

I have known very few Polish girls but one of them was named Krzystyna. She had red hair and glasses. She was very sweet and friendly and I really liked her.

Another Polish girl was named Zdanetta and she was nice too and friendly.

Another Polish girl I knew was named Anna and she was friendly and liked to make me feel included as part of the group. I'm sure everyone is different but that's my 2 cents.

Love / Loving someone from Poland (same gender) but from a faraway land [8]

I'm sure he'll be the same my friend :) If someone is a sincere and genuine person then you can expect their feelings to be real online or not, and you've known him for a while, interacted with him for a while, plus you have a mutual friend who has confirmed that your boyfriend is a good guy :) He'll be so happy to meet you in person when you surprise him after graduation. And it's coming up soon, right???? Tell us your plans!

Language / Help needed with Polish Verb Conjugation [2]

Hi :) Each dictionary lists the conjugation classes slightly differently. A book that has some good explanations is Polish An Essential Grammar by Dana Bielec. It gives some conjugation classes and some verbs that have it, so you can kind of predict which conjugation a verb will have. I suggest that you conjugate all of the verbs in the lists :) Then you can take 301 Polish verbs and conjugate each verb based on what you think it is, from the conjugations you know. Then you can check it, you'll find some are exceptions or not what you expected, so you can check it, fix it, and do it again :) That's what I did xD

Law / I was fined for not having a tram ticket in Poland. How does this affect me? [68]

Sobieski, Akirnic would pay but she simply does not have the money. It's kind of like when your money is stolen and you have to take the bus to go home anyways or something like that. In my opinion she should write a nice letter explaining, the truth is always the best. For example in I can do bad all by myself, a Tyler Perry movie, some children tried to steal from Madea, and she fed them and told them that if they need something they can just ask and people will help them :)

Trust me - you're not boring at all my dear friend! I am absolutely delighted to hear from you.
Today I spoke to my sister on the phone, ate something, and chatted online. I also looked at some clothing online because I am planning to buy a new dress in March :)

I will call my love, Michal, after he gets out of school.
What about you? What are you up to today? How old are you? Where are you from? What are your hobbies? Do you have any pets?

My dog and I wave to you happily.

Love / Questions about Polish Men - flirting, cheating, liking? [43]

I have a story about a Polish man but I want to say that every person is different and it's not about the culture. But since you asked, I will tell you this story so grab a hot chocolate and read it.

Once upon a time, my classmate, Molly, and I went to Fabric, a club in London near Elephant and Castle. We took the tube from King's Cross to Elephant and Castle. Molly was wearing some high heels and makeup. I do not remember what I was wearing.

Molly and I were standing near the bar. All of a sudden, I saw a good-looking person standing there. Therefore, Molly and I approached him. "Hello," I said. We talked to each other. Then I told him that he was good-looking. Then we sat next to each other. It turned out that the guy's name was Tomasz Maternik. Molly and I met another guy there too and we became friends with him, and his name was Brian. He was a happy and friendly person.

Tomasz and I held hands and kissed. Then Molly and I rode the bus back home rather than the tube because it was getting late and the tube doesn't always run very late, you see.

After that, Tomasz and I texted and e-mailed each other. He wrote me flirtatious things in the e-mails, such as he asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, where he was on a business trip. However, later on Tomasz mentioned that he had a girlfriend. Therefore, I didn't talk to him any more.

Later on, I was at a club named Tiger Tiger in Piccadilly Circus with some girlfriends of mine. I saw a handsome guy there named Klodian Bukaci. We exchanged phone numbers and went to Regent's Park, where we walked around. We also had some biscuits and orange juice at a cafe. I thought that Klodian was going to be my boyfriend; however, he just wanted to get into my pants. That upset me, so I took Tomasz's offer to go to Paris.

When I got to Paris, I phoned Tomasz and said that I was there. We ate some food. When he was working, I went to the Bois de Boulogne and a museum across from the hotel, l'Etoile Meridien. We went to a club named Rex and walked back to the hotel. We saw l'Arc de Triomphe. I borrowed Tomasz's cell phone and took his girlfriend's number out of there and I got her Skype while he was at the gym because I felt that she should know that Tomasz was being inappropriate. I had a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing and had made a bad judgment call when I was upset about Klodian Bukaci.

Later on I told Agata (Tomasz's partner) about it via e-mail and she viewed the e-mails which Tomasz had sent me, but they were still together.

Another time, I slept with a Polish man named Piotr because he was handsome, and later I heard that he had a wife and children, but I'm not sure if it is true, because I do not understand why he would not be living with them if he had a family.

Anyways, that's my story, but Single Female honey, not every man will be the same in a culture, but that's my story since you asked me. I have another experience with an American man as well who was married, so it can happen in any culture. Also, my friend's father cheated on her mum, and he is a Chinese. My advice is you are right, it is inappropriate for him to flirt with others when he is still with his girlfriend, so you should try not to date him, my sweetheart. My dog and I wish you a nice day and we love you very much <3

Off-Topic / Polish Programming Forum - No one wanted friendship [14]

I'd LOVE to be your friend, Jerry!
I do have friends in real life, but they rarely have time to meet, because they work 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. We meet once a month maximum.

So it's great to have people to talk to online as well.
I met my partner, Michal, on this site actually and I am going to call him today. It is very nice to have someone to talk to about what you did that day and other **** like that.

UK, Ireland / The secret Polish gay men in the U.K [133]

Wulkan, if you are bisexual I guess it means that you can have a relationship with another man but if you are bicurious it means you would enjoy sucking another man's cock and having another man's penis inside of you but it's just sex and not a relationship. I am bicurious but I would not act on it because I would feel embarrassed.

Work / Does google voice work correctly in Poland? [22]

Terrence, my good friend, maybe you can install Skype. It's a free program and there you can call people for free, you don't even need a number! :) My dog and I send our warm greetings to you and lots of hugs.

Law / French guy living in Poznan, needs information on theory and test for Polish driving licence [8]

Hi my friend, ah that's very horrible that they try to make you pay higher prices. I do not live in Poland and I have never been there but I cross my fingers for you very tightly, that someone can answer you...

Wow that's a very good point actually. You know what? Some vocab books about Polish language have some sections especially about directions and driving. Maybe you can look for a book like this, I had one before but I lost it, otherwise I would tell you. Or maybe someone can do the test in English, wish you best of luck because it seems you need a licence now.
