Law / Can dependent Visa holders take up employment in Poland? [51]

Hi there,

Surprisingly there is very little info about this in the whole wide internet, or its hard to find.

Can people entering Poland on dependent Visa (Non EU citizen )take up employment ? If yes are there any conditions attached

Thanks

Law / If I have a work permit, what are the chances that my visa application will get rejected? [25]

1. How much time does it take to process and send work permit ?
I found in few old posts that it may take 2-3 months.
If I may ask how much time did it take for you ?

Yes they say the average is about 1.5 months for getting the work permit.
In my case I think the employer got the work permit in about 2-3 weeks.
I think it depends on many factors since the work permit issuing is a Government activity.

2. Is it required to book/reserve flight when applying for Visa?
Yes while applying for Visa you need to have a reservation for the air ticket

3. For how long do we have to buy travel insurance and travel health insurance ?
Travel insurance and health insurance is same, its required for 3 months from the day of arriving in Poland. The Polish embassy website has a list of insurance providers whose insurance is accepted.

Good luck to your for your trip

Law / If I have a work permit, what are the chances that my visa application will get rejected? [25]

I would like to answer this question myself after going through the experience.

The only chance that a Polish Visa application based on a work permit gets rejected is if you fill up the application form wrongly or if you fail to submit the required documents (travel insurance/work permit letter for example)

Compared to the other kind of Visas the Visa based on work permit is more straight forward (There was no detailed interview , for example)
And there is no need to show proof of funds/bank statement for your stay in Poland

Thanks for your help :)

Law / If I have a work permit, what are the chances that my visa application will get rejected? [25]

Hi there,

This forum has already helped me with lots of info, thanks for that, you guys are doing a great job.

I am a software professional from India. I have a job offer from Poland now.

This is the scenario I am in.

I have a notice period of 2 months in my current organization. As I understand the entire process of getting the Visa stamped (background check , work permit and Visa) might take upto 3 months. So to make it safer for me, I should wait for a max period of 3 months before resigning from my current job. Then I will have to serve the 2 months notice period and I will have to wait for a total of 3+2= 5 months before I move to Poland.

Now, 5 months is a long time, it will be great if I can somehow make it shorter.

So here is my question.

Will it be safe for me if I resign from my current job after getting the work permit from Poland ? - thereby saving the time required to get the Visa

Or in other words, what are the chances that my Visa application gets rejected if I have a work permit?

Thanks,
binith
