UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

my friends partner was unemployed and actively looking for a job and she told me that the work centre paid for new shirts for his job interviews, new shoes and when he made a joke about it being cold outside, they asked how much money does he need for a new jacket

Then your friend is a liar, he may have received a crisis loan, which he would have to pay back on a weekly basis out of his giro, but there is NO way that he received money for a new shirt for an interview because the Social are so good hearted..FFS....I would suggest you get the facts correct before writing such things.

Im afraid yes, there is money available for things like new clothes for interviews etc,but only if you have been unemployed for over 6 months.

I have never heard of them "giving" money away, surely this money is deducted from the weekly giro...or has to be paid back when the person starts work...great isnt it in this country.

Wages are going up

Wrong, wages if anything are lower in blue collar jobs and have remained stagnant in other areas.

Life / Fashion and Style in Poland [174]

Fashion is so diverse these days...its not just about one or two - uniformed styles like it has been in the past (rockers n mods etc) I think people tend to wear what they like and bugger convention....its how you wear it at the end of the day!

The government were looking at a scheme (I think they are scrapping it now) whereby those that were less, lets say academic would be able to train in skills, they would be like Technical Collages for ages 14 - 16/18 - I personally thought it was a super idea but the Gov has had a change of heart.

What's this ?

Normal meat G (but as M said its killed in the same way has Kosha meat), Im surprised they have it in Poland since they would need their own slaughter house....unless its imported.

Last week I saw a man in a pair of Ugg boots in London, is this acceptable? He had his jeans tucked inside them and I just thought.. .wrong!

Get me a gun!

Unfortunately they also appear to have lost the ability to walk in them and just scuff their feet along

Its funny you say that on my way back from teh supermarket on Saturday there was a young girl "trying" to walk in them and they seemed to fit quite badly, in that the sole of the shoe was half twisted....for me they just like look big slippers..(ohhh am sounding old, I just dont like them though).

As for the comments about Next, they have hardly ever been cutting edge so I think its a bit unfair to say that they are representative of British fashion, Next is somewhere you go to get work clothes or possibly an outfit for a wedding same as Oasis.

Work / Cheap Labour in Poland - why is there a problem with unemployment in PL? [16]

Im looking on the forum today and noticing that Poland is or has the potential for a flooding of its labour market by cheap labour from countries such as India and China, it kinda makes me think why is there a problem with unemployment for Polish people, when it appears that there are actually jobs in Poland in construction and IT.

I find it quite strange that the government would allow people from None EU countries to come and work, Im not saying that all the jobs should be for Polish people, but I would say it makes more sense to look after your own. Or are the government happy to ignore the situation and plug the gap with foreign labour, whilst Polish nationals are forced to leave Poland because of the level of salaries.

Also we have had skilled workers coming over from Poland to the UK so its not like Poland doesn't produce skilled workers or is there a lack of skilled workers because of the mass exodus from Poland.

Im just curious to know what the immigration laws are like and how easy it for None EU nationals it is to get employment and what Polish people feel about it.

The Irish are now buying up most of what you got them to build. lmho

Not quite but Im sure that the economy in Ire is doing just fine.

Doesn't that just prove how lazy you were,

Clever, I'd say :)

Must be so embarassing to see what has become of the fabulous empire now

All good things come to an end, every dog has its day, make hay while the sun shines...do you want me to go on?

what was fat on rape and pillage in the past, robbing nations of their wealth

It was a dirty job but someone had to do it (I might add that it wasnt only the British that hacked up the world - we were just better), It's not like the British were the first to do it, I seem to remember the Vikings and the Romans enjoying such things when they came to Britian.

now has one of the worst reputations for health and Hospitals, Gun crime and drug use,

In the world, in Europe, in the EU? please be clearer - you might add that we have some of the best training facilities in Europe..and people come from all around the world to train as doctors and to specialise here...but I guess you're just looking at the negatives. As for gun crime, now thats quite amusing an Irish man telling me all about violence...hmmm

Can't facilitate their troops abroad with proper equipment etc,

It's been a long and expensive war for such a tiny country to finance, but Im sure the troops are okay.

oh yeah i'd be so proud to be Briti

Are you in Northern Ireland? in which case you are!...ya cock!

BTW It's people like you that make me really proud to be of Irish decent...LF

UK, Ireland / I have concerns over the British immigration policy so I wrote to my MP. [126]

I think the main concern is the sheer numbers and how this has affected resources - and because of the negative press that the Polish are receiving couple this will the fact the companies will pay Polish less in the majoirty of cases (obviously not all) it is in some ways having a negative effect, England isnt a cheap place to live, if you live alone, it's a different story if you are sharing with several other people, of course you can maybe work for £1 or £2 less and I think Dan, that is the bottom line.

There is also the contentious issue of child support being paid to Polish people in Poland out of British taxes....I dont believe that the Polish are the most hated immagrants

Couldn't you at least use a better descriptive term without showing your class?

I thought that term quite classy...my bad!

My intent was not to concentrate on negatives

you did.

As for the NI situation, because of you whinning I assumed you were from that part of Ireland most people in the South / West dont usually whine!

You prove the point that most ill informed people of your ilk

A number of my Ilk are from Mayo! or are they excluded?

I am not directing it at you personally. I am just suprised that it can be portayed in such a simplistic way. I have a lot of sentiment for Ireland's freedom movement and perhaps I am biased because of that.
As for the ignorant people, I think they are simply lazy. There is so much info on Northen Ireland that there is no excuse for anybody to be misinformed, unless thay are doing it on purpose.

Im quite aware of Irish history too, but when I get the three stooges here its hard not to take the p!ss

Are you on your monthly cycle again Shelly? you seem to enjoy trying to **** people off from time to time. Anyway if it makes you happy you can call me what you wish as it dosen't bother me in the slightest.

Took the words right out of my keyboard

Ha ha,.. Shelley there is medication on sale now for that you know?

What a bunch of Cocks! (note the Captial C, is that better??)

BTW what has Ireland past history got to do with Poland's current situation? Note that the whinning Paddies have to make it all about them...

Thought you were of Mayo extraction! makes you a Paddy

And your point is? I have never lived in the country I merely have an Irish name and some long lost cousins in Mayo..I dont actually claim to be "IRISH" and have never felt the need to sing Danny Boy or Athen Rye after a few GnT's

Cock too or is that wishful thinking

I hardly think so, that my good fellow is reserved for fu*kwits like you!

Me thinks ShelleyS is on the backfoot now and trying to back out, no point trying to squirm out of it, statements made and on record.

Trust me I dont backfoot anywhere! I stand by comments you are a whinning Paddy! who seems to think that a Polish forum is the place to moan about the Anglo Irish situation and who chose to take to heart everything I wrote..no fool like an old fool aye!

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

It costs £5000 a year to send one funny smelling polish child to school, that does include their child benefits for poles kids, housing allowances, social services, council services, nhs etc.

Whilst I will agree there are an overwhelming number of immigrants in the UK, I just wonder why you keep targeting Polish people - who are working, paying tax and if they have got kids its generally only one or two....Yet you seem to overlook the fact we have Africans / Pakis who are over here breed like rats and claim every benefit under the sun (in some cases for children that they havent actually got) and then wire it all back to the other 10,000 relatives who are saving up to come to this land of milk and honey...

You say about it costing £5,000 per year to educate a child - have you any idea how much it costs to treat a patient with AIDS? Believe you me, its a lot more expensive than educating a child...Maybe you should look at the stats for those from African countries (health tourists I think they call them) is costing the state!

Obviously there are benefits, but companies dont open up offices in a country because it will benefit the population of that country, it's soley for economic reasons. I mean all of Europe didn't send their call centres to India because they thought "lets help India's economy"....that would be plain silly to think that.

2. URL the nhs is being crippled by polish woman breeding like rabbits.

Can you get me the stats on Africans and Asians...now that would be interesting to compare, dont you think?

btw, incubus, the civiliesed world has rather grown out of doning "black face" as a laugh...)

I think that its her partner in her profile...

a british sunday consists of: telly with football on, beer and a bunch of fat beer-belly english tw@ts screaming

Not in the bars I frequent, but I suppose it depends on who your friends are, you obviously mix with those lower class people you keep banging on about.

not to mention your infamous ignorance and inability to learn any foreign languages.

You're probably right but that’s generally because English is spoken throughout the world - its not a necessity for people to learn another language to get on in life - but you might be surprised to know that many English people do speak at least one other language, but again this all depends on the kind of people you mix with, must be those horrid lazy fat working class people you keep referring to that are incapable of learning!

and of course you are not patriots but state your wonderful britishness every where you go, wearing t-shirts with flags, waving flags out your windows and looking down at people from other nations

No because it's considered racist if we dare wave our flags in public, we might upset the ethnic majority!

i hardly mess with english people

I think you mean - mix, not mess, unless you is a wigga and then it's just plain funny!..because you keep telling me how educated the people are who you associate with.

yeah, i guess that`s the kind of people i`m talking about. though you can get across british people (the educated and rich kind) in spain and some of them expect the spanish to speak english to them!

Spanish speak English very well, they are very educated people and understand the needs of people living and visiting, manay Spanish speak German fluently too...but I guess because you get your info second / third hand without actually knowing anyone that lives out there you don't know these things...but that's okay.

i`ve seen many english and british flags hanging out the windows. i wouldn`t say it`s racist but patriotic i guess

Well, you see I realise you dont read the papers very much and now I know the kind of place you live..

You see, when the last major football games were on (you will have to forgive me for wrong terminology but I don’t follow football) the George Flag and the Union Jack were band in certain areas that were, let's say ethic majority - just in case it insited racism, in short, you know feck all about the UK and what goes on...

i meant `mess` as in `mess around`, `mix`. not sure what a wigga is though

Really, I'm quite surprised at your answer....since you have all the attributes...

incubus

The English go on holiday, do they need to converse in depth with the locals? The Polish come here to work without knowlege of English...so what is your argument...you really are a stupid wigga aren't you...or should I say so you can understand "innit"!

And if English is such an under rated language, then why the hell do people all round the world have this over whelming desire to pay through the nose to learn it...hmmmm - might that be because they know if they don't speak it then they are somewhat limited in opportunites around the world...since as it's been pointed out English is a universal language!

nobody says they have to have in depth conversations with the locals but for shiiit`s sake, being able to say what you want to order for starters in a spanish restaurant would be nice, INNIT DUCK?

The menu is in English, French and German...funny than innit, no Polish! We dont use duck in my part of the world neither do we say "innit"...
