Life / Moving to Poland (from Bangladesh) to pursue my higher studies - will it be any different in my case? [3]

Dear Mr. Shadman Kabir,

I have been living in Poland since last three years and I am from Bangladesh. From my experience I can tell you that it is bit different here in lifestyle, foreign culture adoption compared with Western Europe. For example I am doing job as well as pursuing my PhD under funding from EU with the collaboration of Poland and the Netherlands. Unless your study fund is secured, it is not a wise idea to move to Poland. It is really difficult to find part time or full time job here as long as you don't know Polish. Regarding religious stuffs, there is a small community of Muslims in Poland. Of course, it is smaller compared with Germany or other European countries. I think all these information will help you.

Hi,

I am also from subcontinent ( not from India, but from Bangladesh). I have been in Poland for about one year and getting the salary of same amount ( I work in AGH in an European Union project in Krakow) that your are offered. To my opinion, Poland may not be the best, but its not that bad. There are few Indian communities in Krakow and Warsaw and believe me they are quite active. Managing Indian food is also not a big problem ( there are some groceries in Warsaw which even parcel things to other cities). So I would advise to take the opportunity and explore Poland. After 5 years of residency, you will have long term EC residency; then you can decide where to settle.

Law / Information on which documents are needed to obtain a visa for a visit to Poland (non EU citizen ) [18]

Basically the visit visa for Poland are handled by Swedish Embassy in Bangladesh. However, I would like to know about the format of the invitation letter. Is there any official form for invitation? If any, do I need to verify ( getting sealed) it by the Immigration office in Krakow. Or only a normal invitation letter ( containing all the required information: my salary, accommodation arrangement) will work here.

Is not there any single person who can highlight on this???

I am also getting gross salary of around 2800 euro ( 12000 PLN) evry month. However, after the tax,zus, insurance, I receive approximately 6,500 PLN. All hail to the tax, zus system!!!!!

Law / Info needed for settlement permit in Poland or EC long term resident permit [2]

Hi all,
Could anyone help me answering the following queries:

1. If I stay in Poland in connection with job/employment basis (having fixed residence permit) for continuous 5 years, will I be able to apply for Settlement permit/EC Long Term resident permit?

If answer is Yes, then:
2. What is the difference between settlement permit and EC long term resident permit?Which category I will be eligible to apply after 5 years of stay in Poland since I am from Non-EU country (Asia)?

3. Is there really any benefit to apply for Blue card in Poland? Literally I am seeing no difference here since both (Blue card category and fixed residence permit category) require 5 years continuous stay in Poland to apply for settlement permit/ EC Long term residence permit [I am talking about in terms of getting Permanent residency in Poland]

Answers and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Life / Why is there such interest in Poland from the Asian population? A new wave of migrants possibly? [23]

Hi,
I am an Asian and I have been living in Krakow with my spouse ( she is also from my country). I have also seen this trend ( having Polish girl friend or wife) here in my community . In some cases, there exist love certainly. Might be Polish girl finds Asian male more caring and more of a family guy. On the other hand, Asian male finds it easier to have a Polish girl friend rather than English or German. However, there is other side of the coin also. Sometimes, they really use it as a easy way to get into the EU countries. This is just my opinion and observation and I just presented pros and cons of this subject ( no intention to hurt anybody's feelings).

I think what Monitor said is the real fact. There is no benefit of having blue card in Poland practically. By the way, I am employed in the university with a valid work contract, health insurance covered by standard employment contract. I am paying good amount of taxes and I have already my fixed residence permit based on my current employment (although I am also pursuing my PhD) rather than as a student. So I think in my case, the time frame is 5 years to get settlement permit in Poland. Would you please highlight this point.

Yes, KOT. Your point is right. Right now I am working as a Technical specialist in AGH as well as pursuing my PhD. My contract is up to 2017 (funded by European Union). Since the salary is quite handsome, I am thinking about applying for Blue Card. I asked that question because I may have better employment opportunity outside Poland (in another EU country) after 2017. I love Krakow definitely but sometimes You have to do something for better earning and better future. In that case, what would be the consequences?

Thanks for your information. That means after 3 year 5 months you got permit to settle in Poland. So after 5 years, can you get that kind of residence permit (can work and live in other EU countries also ) described by Monitor? Second thing is that: is this 3 year 5 month applicable for non-EU nationals also? or they need more time frame to receive this settlement permit?

Merged: Seeking Information regarding Blue Card system in Poland

Hello everyone,

I have been in Krakow since last year and frankly speaking I have found Krakow as an amazing city! I would like to know about the Blue Card system in Poland ( I know this blue card scheme has already started in Poland since 2012/13 and the annual salary limit is around 63,000 PLN and also required higher qualification). I found few information on it in some websites (although in government website its a mess!!!) But my specific question is how many years does it take to become a permanent resident of Poland for blue card holders ( for example in Germany it needs 33 months)?

Law / Help regarding Polish spouse visa issue for student of Erasmus Mundus Phd program in Poland [11]

Thank you all for your kind reply.I have already mailed New Delhi Polish Embassy, however, in terms of response they are very slow. No Polish website provided me the exact information. My assigned university (AGH, Krakow) can issue me an invitation letter. But what will be the case for my spouse? Will the same invitation letter work for her?
