History / How different would WW2 turned out if Poland accepted Hitler's offer [215]

Hitler offered Poland deals and hoped for an alliance, much like the one he had with Hungary, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Japan and countless others

At the time of Hitler's offer, Poland faced 3 options
A) Stay neutral. Not possible
B) Join Germany
C) Say no and rely on France & England

History has shown that Poland took the bloodiest route. But was it the right decision?

Considering how France and England did little to nothing following Germany's attack. Furthermore how Poland was yet again lied to during the War by it's Western allies which ultimately led to 40 years of Soviet control anyway, would have joining Hitler been any worse?

A German - Poland alliance would have taken over Russia, which Stalin feared. Adding Japan into the mix would have only strengthen an Eastern powerhouse.

Hindsight Pearl Harbor doesn't happen and neither would the need for invasion of France/England. Instead we would see a legitimate Western & Eastern Europe.

Ultimately, Polands ''foolish'' decision spared millions of Jewish lives. As an alliance would have meant every Jew in Central & Eastern Europe would have been sent to work/perish in the Russian gulags, now under German control.

Life / Is it True that People in Poland Dislike Charity? [13]

Poles have very strong family structure so they assume if you need help you should go to your family. And being from Socialism, it is assumed the Government will help you.

History / How different would WW2 turned out if Poland accepted Hitler's offer [215]

Poland refused the demands and joined France, bound by the 1921 treaty, and England, bound to a hasty 1939 treaty, to resist German expansion.

It's shocking how I know you are correct and yet I can't find a single link to this on my American google. It's crazy. People rewriting history

You got anything at all to back that claim?

- What's more than nothing? Send in fighter planes, bomber, significant amount of supplies. Something, anything?

- The assumption is that Poland-Germany pact taking over Russia keeps Hitler from moving West. Pat Buchanan actually wrote some interesting stuff on the subject

buchanan.org/blog/did-hitler-want-war-2068

"Why did Warsaw not negotiate with Berlin, which was hinting at an offer of compensatory territory in Slovakia? Because the Poles had a war guarantee from Britain that, should Germany attack, Britain and her empire would come to Poland's rescue.

But where is the evidence that Adolf Hitler, whose victims as of March 1939 were a fraction of Gen. Pinochet's, or Fidel Castro's, was out to conquer the world?

But if Hitler was out to conquer the world - Britain, Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, South America, India, Asia, Australia - why did he spend three years building that hugely expensive Siegfried Line to protect Germany from France? Why did he start the war with no surface fleet, no troop transports and only 29 oceangoing submarines? How do you conquer the world with a navy that can't get out of the Baltic Sea?

If Hitler wanted the world, why did he not build strategic bombers, instead of two-engine Dorniers and Heinkels that could not even reach Britain from Germany?

Why did he let the British army go at Dunkirk?

Why did he offer the British peace, twice, after Poland fell, and again after France fell?

Why, when Paris fell, did Hitler not demand the French fleet, as the Allies demanded and got the Kaiser's fleet? Why did he not demand bases in French-controlled Syria to attack Suez? Why did he beg Benito Mussolini not to attack Greece?

Because Hitler wanted to end the war in 1940, almost two years before the trains began to roll to the camps."

Life / Do Polish people like Turkish people? [66]

This thread was started ages ago but the title still makes me laugh. He asks it like 'he just wants to make sure the Polish people love Turkish people.' Why would they love them? I love Turkey peeps. You know, people who bring Turkey to you when you are hungry.

Someone should have introduced him to google translate and the word ''like'' or accept.

Everything has pretty much been covered in this thread.

Love / English man dating Polish lady [5]

These sort of things don't usually end well. The ethnicity and especially the nationality of your partner should be a concern after you hit it off with them, not the other way around. If you want a serious and high probability of working relationship specifically with a Polish woman, you should become involved in Polish society. That shouldn't be a problem in England with the influx of immigrants recently.

If you are trying to find a ''bride for order''.....good looking Polish girl that wants to live with wealthy British man. Eventually these kind of women find a younger/richer partner to replace you with.

Genealogy / Do you think all Slavs are white? [178]

Is the old saying: The word slavery comes from slavs always being slaves during/after war true?

Genealogy / Do you think all Slavs are white? [178]

It's a common opinion in the USA

"The word σκλάβος, in turn, comes from the ethnonym Slav, because in some wars in early mediaeval times many Slavs were captured and enslaved"

Genealogy / Do you think all Slavs are white? [178]

Please... even finding Europe on the map is not a common ability in USA...

If I asked Americans on the street - what do you think about Slavs? 9 out of 10 would say - I am not following baseball at the moment xD

Fair enough, I'm not disagreeing with you just asking a question. The issue with discrediting American opinion, is that their view through the use of power media is portrayed onto Asia, South America, Africa

I had a black guy tell me, ''We are brothers. Slavs were slaves too''.

USA, Canada / General differences between Poland and the USA? [184]

For example. This video was made as a school project in a upper middle class predominately white high school. Rap culture is rotting American culture from the inside. 33 students were suspended, no prom, no walking at graduation

Life / Drink driving a bike and losing your driving license in Poland [27]

You don't see the issue of putting people in jail, massive fines and losing license for riding a bike drunk? The whole point of riding the bike is to avoid getting behind the wheel. People don't ride bikes drunk because they are looking for a workout

So they are trying to increase taxi business?

USA, Canada / General differences between Poland and the USA? [184]

Of course it does. Why would you have a double standard for your own children and others. They both interact with each other and eventually you will have to share society with them.

History / How different would WW2 turned out if Poland accepted Hitler's offer [215]

Russia defended itself fine. That's why I put an and between England/Poland .......and Russia/France.

So your argument tends to hint that Polska should have sided with it's neighbor not France and some country on the other side of Europe

Another point. Winners write the history:

Why isn't Stalin viewed in the same regard as Hitler when he killed more/everyone. He didn't even draw lines.

Why wasn't USA held accountable for dropping the 2 atomic bombs OR their death camps of 1.5 Million Germans who were starved to death?

If we had joined the Nazis. They win the War and the Holocaust is a little piece of history just like the Holodomor .

Bedsides drunks on bikes are causing quite a few accidents.

No. The bike is replacing the car. By getting rid of the bike, you are increasing the probability of car. Why take a bike if you can take a car and get the same penalty?

You think the USA comes to the rescue of the Soviets?

With Russia under his control and every country in the region except France. There is no point of Hitler going into West Europe. I think he stops at controlling the entire Central/East.

Love / My little confession hehe - I always thought polish women were ugly [57]

Few thoughts

- As is the case with most European girls, Polish girls are skinny but they also tend to have breast and curves. IMO (and many Americans agree) Eastern European girls are the hottest whites. German & British (especially) do not compare.

- American men are infatuated with blonde hair. Alot of it has to do with the fact the USA is only 50% white and opposites attract. So they love them some blonde hair.

Life / Why are Polish so obsessed with Russia [46]

Russia is a big bully in the region. Just look at how they acted on Polish soil during Euro 2012 Tournament and that had nothing to do with Russian government. While Poles have their bad apples, Russians are known by everyone as obnoxious.

In terms of Poles/Russians living in the USA and their relations to each other. I don't think it's any different than Polish-German or Polish-British. Your post seems to argue Poles should go out of their way for Russians because we are both Slavs. I think in the USA it's wise to treat everyone on equal footing or you will lose out on opportunities. The ironic part is that us both being Slavs, almost creates a sense of competition: ''We both immigrated to this country and look who is better off''

We expect Americans to understand Polish history and respect us but we shouldn't expect the same from Russians, who is an actual neighbor? At the end of the day Russia doesn't want to be part of the European Union and almost considers itself it's own continent. So other than ethnicity, we don't share much any longer.

Life / Why are Polish so obsessed with Russia [46]

- You've met every single Pole living in the USA and quizzed them on their feelings about Russia?

- You seem to be the only ''Pole'' on here obsessing over the matter

- Russian fans beat up Polish stewards a week before the Poland/Russian match. Their fans also had inappropriate signs and wore military uniforms (WTF) to matches. Which is why FIFA penalized Russia and not Poland.

Typical Russian cowardliness thuggery.

- What was occurring in Poland while Russia put Sputnik in space? We were under Soviet rule. You should pick up a history book sometime.

If Poland is so backwards then why do you as a Russian feel the need to come on a Polish forum and describe ignorant American opinions? Americans look down on all of us, they laugh at Russia murdering tens of millions of their own citizens. You live in San Jose. I live in San Diego. So there's one Pole that accomplished more than a Russian.

On the subject of Russia.
*The average Russian man has a life expectancy of 58 years, which is among the shortest in the civilized world.

* The Russian population is down to 142 million. In 1991 it was 148 million. It is expected to decrease by 1/3 by 2050, down to 96 million.

* The birth rate in Russia (The number of children born to the average woman) remains below 2.0, which is the 'breakeven' point.

* The Russian death rate is 14.3 per 100,000. Compares to 8.5 for the USA.

There may be an occasional young woman kidnapped from Ukraine and dragged into Russia, but that would be the extent to any immigration problem.
