Life / Veet wax stripes & eye doctor (center) in Poznan? [9]

Tesco, ul. Serbska. You can get checked on the spot by a competent optician.

Poland is full of eye doctors, is it really so difficult to walk into an opticians? There's one on Fredry, close to the crossing of Gwarna.

Vison Express in every shopping centre in Poland.
Impossible to have them before Monday though mate,
They'll need at least a week to cut the glass and put them into the frames.

Thanks guys,

Why the haste for an eye doctor anyway? If your vision has suddenly deteriorated to the point where you need glasses, I'd be going straight to the hospital, not to an optician.

no it's not a sudden thing , it's been a while now I can't see the board and anything written far away.

Life / Veet wax stripes & eye doctor (center) in Poznan? [9]

Hello everyone,

I firstly want to say that This is a truly excellent website worth respect, with all the help you guys gave me since I've subscribed. Thanks for all members and admins.

I have two inquires:

1. veet wax stripes for hair removal, I always order them from u.k , but the shipping is very expensive and it takes 5-6 days, I've been to two pharmacies, (apteka) in Poznan, and didn't find them , so is this brand not sold in Poznan? - I need them today.

by the way, is their a pharmacy that deliver? (regardless the delivery charge).

2. I need to get my eyes checked to get glasses , does any one know an eye doctor (better speak english) or a center for checking sight and sell glasses , it's ok if it's private center or doctor., I need them before next Monday.

Thanks a lot :))

if you're going to be here long enough then the three or six month tickets are better value but you have to get the electronic card first.

I wanna buy the one month or three months , but what is the electronic card? and how do I get it?

The ZTM point in Kupiec Poznanski or at os. Sobieskiego can answer all your questions.

They don't speak English , man.

Or look it up

I already checked that, should I buy the 157 zl , for thirty days?

Travel / About tram tickets (Poznan) [22]

Hi everyone,
I use tram tickets everyday from city center to Morasko (last stop) and back , and most of times I get out to Poznan Plaza to a place their I go, I buy the ticket from machines for 2.80 , so that's 5.60 If I don't go to the Plaza and 7.40 PLN everyday I go there, and the effort of buying 3 times a day ,

there must be a cheaper way to get something for long term , I heard there's a long term tickets, or android application or a website to buy online.,

Please help.

Thanks.

Travel / Accommodation (student friendly) in Poznan [11]

In Poland they'd reserve a seat on the tram if they could. People book tables in pubs and even reserve graves!

Wow!

Dorms are often unstaffed at this time of year, or rented en masse to organisations such as the Malta Festival.

That's what I thought. I've checked Jagienka, Jowita, and Zbyszko so far , and they all told me they don't have now and to check again in September or October as some rooms will be available, But that's is just illogical, if they don't have now (summer break) how they're gonna have in Sep, or Oct (fall semester) ??!?!?

Real Estate / What's with the commitment for rents in Poland? [9]

Hi everyone!

Why flats rantings here require commitment contract for like 9 months or a year at least?
In other countries you can rent for a day, week, month, whatever as long as you pay for each period.
I mean I can't guarantee that I'll stay for the period I'm signing a lease for, what happens if I rented a flat for a year, and wanted to leave after like 2 or 3 months for any reason?

Thanks

I did. you're right it's not unlikely , it seems impossible, but isn't weird? I mean it's summer holiday and dorms should be almost empty, does students book rooms from now for the fall semester?
