Although, I'm not talking about all Brits, I am talking about those who whinge that their jobs are being stolen but who wouldn't work anyway. I am aware there are unemployed British folk who would take any job to get themselves started on the career ladder. It's not them I'm talking about at all.

I didn't say Poles work harder, I was talking about the low-paid jobs that previously weren't filled but are now filled due to Polish people. For example, my company advertise some of these low paid jobs and truly, it's not British people who are coming for the interviews...(others may advertise these posts and have many British people for interviews but that is not my experience).

Yes, I get what you're getting at. I'm not against my own countrymen but there are certain elements of our society that really make me wonder...if it came across that I dislike all Brits, that was not my intention. :)

No, don't deal in agencies. Never, ever. My company advertises in local papers, online (sometimes) and in the job centre (although we very rarely get anything from them). The post offered will run in all the local papers each week until the post is filled.

I truly think one of the problems with this country is that employers/agencies are allowed to do what you write about above. It really throws the equal opportunities thing right out the window and obviously, in cases like you describe, it's local workers who come of worst (Brits).

In fact, I'm not sure they really are "allowed" to do it, but they are getting away with it through some loophole or another!

I don't like pointy toe shoes either. I have one pair, which look nice with jeans and a top in the summer but I can't wear them if I have to walk any distance because they get hurt. And yeah, the pointy bit makes me think of a witch :)


They are hard to walk in. I see girls with them on and they're basically walking over the side and back of them. I bought a cheaper version (infact 2 pairs) over the winter and they great and sturdy (but still managed to fall on the ice :)

It's quite a large group but your age group should favour you. I'd imagine that you won't have much problems unless you plan on being loutish :) It's really the drunken, disorderly "younger" stag parties that they are cracking down on. Yes, independent jewellers, like most independent retailers carry their stock in their cars and vans in order to transport from wherever they have purchased their stock from. Not everything is delivered to them. Whether or not their insurance covers this I do not know, I would be surprised if it did but there might some loop hole.

noimmigration, as the article clearly states there is no ID to these attackers other than they are "Eastern European" so if you feel strongly enough that they are Polish then perhaps you'd like to go undercover on the streets of Glasgow and prove this point to us once and for all. If not, then accept that the real identity of these thieves is not known.
