Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Zywiec and Okocim.. only good ones I can find here, in Wisconsin. Which I have to travel a half an hour to get.. but, definitely worth it!

Travel / Greatest Old Towns in Poland [60]

Nope. Just was curious. Being from the US, I don't see much of that. Like I referred to the colors, "beautiful ". I was intrigued, actually.

I'm curious.. call this a dumb question if you will, but is there reasoning for the color choice on the majority (well what I've noticed) of Poland buildings. They're very bright colored, from what I can tell, beautiful if you ask me. Just wasn't sure what, if any, reasoning was behind it.

Thank you :)

USA, Canada / Paczki.. Doughnuts.. in Wisconsin [8]

I work in a bakery in central Wisconsin. Right around Fat Tuesday we start getting in Pączki, frozen and pre made, bleh. Haven't tried them for that reason. So, I've tried doing some research and have had much luck. Anyone either know where I can get them, fresh, somewhere near my area, or any "easy" recipes. Also, we have limited fillings they send us. Any suggestions, for myself and maybe to help bring in a little extra dough (lol), for our bakery? Thank you all in advance!

Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4501]

Merged: Last name translation...

Hey, everyone.
Im new here :)
I'm from the US. Well, my father was adopted by his step father, so his last name was changed from, Kasmiski, to, Russell. Leaving me without my well deserved Polish last name.

I've always been curious, if possible, what does Kasmiski translate into? Any and all feed back is appreciated! Thank you :)

Is there an equivalent name to Alicia, in the Polish language?
