For UE citizens to check the "continuous residence" in zone Schengen is very difficult.
If you have your legal marriage certificate not problem when applying for permanent residence on the basis of marriage.

A friend of mine(he's from the U.K) got permanent residence in Poland not meeting this requiriment. He's married to a polish.

exceed 6 months in 1 year and all breaks together exceed 10 months in 5 years.

But if u have a registration certificate of living in Poland(ue citizen) on the basis of marriage, not on the basis of work, how do they check THE CONTINUOUS RESIDENCE after the 5 years? Poland is in Schengen and nobody would stamp any visa for eu citizens.

U could have a registration certificate for 5 years(temporary residence) and live in another country belonging to Schengen and at the end of 5 years to apply for permanent residence on the basis of marriage.I understand that on the basis of work u have to a verifiable work history and so they will check but what about on the basis of marriage (ue citizens)?

I don't know if i was clear enough....

I haven't got the permanent residency yet so the administrative route isn't for me at the moment!!
As i said before I'm going to re-apply again."If you don't ask, you won't get".

Last wednesday,september 25 2013, I received negative decision by the president of Poland about my application for polish citizenship so I'm very sad about it:(( I have to say, I' m going to apply for polish citizenship again and I hope to get it in my second try, I hope so!!

My question is....What are the chances to get it? I know it depends on the president and I know the president hasn't got to justify his decision so I just want to know your advices.

By the way, the time procedure for the president's decision was 9 months from december 14 2012 to september 25 2013.

Last june 27,2013 I got a letter from the ministry of the interior.I was told that they sent my application to the chancellery of the president so i must wait for the final decision.

I'm going to phone to the chancellery of the president next week for any further news.

Anyone who's lately got polish citizenship through the president here?

My application for polish citizenship has already been sent to the ministry of the interior from the dolnoslaski urzad wojewodzki.I got a letter from there to home.

The ministry of the interior sends it to the President's office after analyzing the application and to approve it.
My question is, with the new polish citizenship law (the Nationality law act of 2 April 2009) that came into force last year,on August 15,2012 is it possible to shorten the time to get polish citizenship? in any case,how long it takes to get it?

To apply through the president of Poland one don't need to have permanent residence.I have the 5 years blue flimsy paper for ue citizens.Not even u have to live in Poland according to the new polish citizenship law.To apply through the president of Poland is totally diferent to apply through the wojewoda or governor of province.

i sent to the dolnoslaski urzad wojwodzki in Wroclaw my application for polish citizenship through the president of poland this morning.Now, i have to wait for the last decision.Hope to get lucky!! I also hope that it don't takes a long, long time to get it after that the polish citizenship act came into force on august 15th, 2012.
