Love / Sexually liberal ----- Is this a fact or myth for Polish women living in Poland? [61]

While I've run into a Polish guy with several girlfriends, I have yet to run into one where the girls are aware of what's going on. And that's not poly.** Of my female Polish friends, 3 are actively in a poly dynamic now (as in everyone knows the arrangement).

**Now, keep in mind, most of my friends are female, so I don't have a huge sample size of men. Also, I tend to stay away from the "organized" poly community, so there could be boatloads and I'm just unaware. Ultimately, I think that just like with Polish women, there's a huge spectrum when it comes to Polish men. I've met some men who are quite secure with their sexuality and kinks and others who think doing it doggy style counts as a perverted and deviant act.

Poly relationships with other girls?

Depends on the person, but generally the poly folks I've run into here are hetero

Let me ask (on behalf of the OP), is there some way to Identify these particular wimmen? Maybe we could put a nice letter, lets say for example one scarlet in colour, on their low cut halter tops.....

Unfortunately, the "I shag strangers in bathroom stalls" T-shirt is no longer in fashion. I think the OP might just have to do it the hard was and talk to teh wimminz.

I would agree with Magdalena. I have people in my circle of friends who will under no circumstances have sex before marriage (and consider even kissing to be a Big Deal), others who are in poly relationships, others who regularly have one night stands, others who prefer one long term partner at a time (maybe or maybe not for marriage) ect, ect. Personally, I think Poland has a wider spectrum of attitudes towards sexuality than in the average country.

Life / If a Phone Gets Stolen in Wroclaw [11]

Luckily, it's a smart phone, so the contacts are all saved elsewhere. I am not a tech wiz, so I don't understand what software was on the phone, how hard it is to replace, ect.

Not an iPhone though, so unfortunately no tracking.

Yeah, it's a long shot, I realise, but have to look. It's a bit rare, but easy to tell if it's the right phone because it's got a unique OS.

Thanks. I'll start looking around for it. Buying it back isn't the issue so much as getting the phone itself back.

Is there any chance of it turning up in a pawn shop, online, ect?

A friend and I were out last night and she got her purse stolen. She's a software developer and needs her phone for work quite literally. I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd post here to see if anybody had any possible suggestions.

Travel / How come no one ever seems to pay for the bus in Poland? [63]

Thanks for the explanation and advice.

At least on days I'm going to the airport, however, I think I'm going to stick with my current strategy of just buying a new ticket. It would be my luck to have an inspector who actually will call the police and delay me on one of those days. And I'm never carrying cash when I'm flying.

Love / Are Polish Girls scared of English Guys [124]

I know of no English women with Polish men!

I agree if we're talking about the kind of Polish man Larwa is describing. Fortunately, there are a fair amount of blokes here who know how to dress themselves, get a proper haircut, ect. Looks aren't everything, mind. But they type of guy who does that sort of thing is more likely to have a good personality to go with the exterior (not to say there aren't head cases too, but it's like that in all countries).

Speaking of bus fares and Wroclaw. I know that the tickets are valid for a certain amount of time. Sometimes the busses get stuck in massive traffic, and a 20 min ride ends up taking 40 mins or more. Do I need to buy a new ticket in that case? I never know what to do in those cases.

Life / Freelance English teacher - Are Polish people unreliable? They continually cancel lessons... [22]

Mine is more flexible than that. A call even five minutes before a lesson is fine with me if they suddenly find out they have to work late.

Well, I'm not totally unreasonable, but I don't tell them there are any exceptions. I actually travel to my student's homes (depending on how far), so it's rather a hassle if they cancel last minute. I live in a small town though, so traveling isn't as big of a deal, and it's better for me than having someone come to my home.

That said, when I move to a bigger town and start having students come to me, I might rethink my policy.

I think it is more a matter of prospective students picking up on your negativity and short-term outlook and realizing it won't be money worth spending.

So, so this and what Natasia said.

I've had no problems keeping students, and even had a few ask to keep on with me once I left the school I taught at. I've only had a few reschedules, they were very valid reasons, and I never had any problems collecting the money for the missed lessons (my cancellation policy is no later than 20:00 the night before).

I get checked 2 or 3 times a month at least.

Yeah, even though the inspectors are very active in my town, I always see at least two people getting a fine each time the inspectors show up. Then again, I don't know how much he fines are.

My friend lives in Wroclaw and claims he never pays for tickets. He rarely gets stopped by inspectors, and when he does he claims the ticket machine is broken and they let him go (don't know if that still works with the new machines inside the bus).

Anyway, in my town, I run into an inspector at least once a week, sometimes more, so it's not even worth it.

The odd thing that happened to me, however, was there was once a ticket control inside a train. Not the regular conductor who comes through and stamps your ticket, but about five men in suits with badges. Scared the living heck out of me because I'd misplaced my ticket. Thankfully, the conductor who stamped me assured them I had it, and they sat and waited until I found it.

No idea what would have happened if I didn't find it.

Love / Why are Polish men so scared of women? [8]

Polish men are like the Polish football team. Great on defense but cannot score to save their lives.

My dating experience is limited, but basing my own perception on that, the warnings of my friends, and seeing the experiences of my friends, things just seem to be different here. Not in a bad or good way, per se, but definitely different. Serious relationships seem to work great, but casual dating seems to be tricky for some reason.

I don't think it's a fear of women, I don't know what it is.
