I hate to say this but if you don't have financial means then please don't go to Poland. Go to India, China or anywhere where the exchange rate is not low against Nepali currency. Not being mean also not that Polish people are not good people, but it is for your own good.

I spend most of my times listening to the songs that I like so that I can sing and play them but I am not a musician so I cannot dissect them like an expert and tell you in detail about the strength, weakness and also how the industry can improve but as a layman as mentioned I love the old stuff. I had heard of Poland mentioned in my history book apart from that I have no memory of hearing anywhere or did I bother to find out more till I went London from Newcastle. In London, I got really close with Polish people. They got me into their music and also food...I have no contact with them now even though I am still in London but I still have so many Polish friends. I have so many fond memories of singing Polish songs while sipping beers and whisky and I know there are more to come which I will definitely share here.

Thanks jon357... Zawsze Tam Gdzie Ty then. I will definitely have to sing in a lower key and also I find singing while plucking the string is quite is quite tricky so I will definitely have to put in many hours of practice. As for Marek Grehuta's song, well, I only know one of his song 'Dni Ktorych Nie Znamy' and I like it a lot. I will definitely prepare at least 5 songs. Hopefully, in a few more months, after I have gained enough confidence and mastery of the songs, I will head down for the open mic and record the whole stuff and share with you guys. I am sure there are many of you guys who will surely help me to improve for future open mic events.

I used to have a workmate from Poland and I like her accent so much that I decided that I should know more Polish people and also learn Polsih song as well because I liked their accent so much that I went to an extent that I listened to one Polish song for more that 1,000 time so that I could cover it. Unfortunately, I am no longer in contact with the girl who inspired me but I am still someone who inspires me to cover more Polish songs..I like Polish accent. I was born in Nepal but grew up Singapore and I love my Polish friends a lot. I have spent so much time pkaying guitars and singing Polish songs but...I also like Japanese, Thai, Korean, Indian, Nepali, Hindi, English, Thai.etc music..these days I listened to lots of Polish songs though. Someone who says Polish girls are the most beautiful needs their head checked because love is in the eye of the beholder !! I have seen beauty from every nation but I love Polish accent when they speak English :-). I am lucky I have so many Polish friends who are very very close to me in London...it is a pity I have not been to Poland yet. I hope when I m there I will make fool of myself by singing and speaking Polish.

Wow !! How I envy you. Within a year you are able to read and understand moderately, did you day ? Well, I have been teaching myself Polish for almost two years, not intensely, and I still cannot even understand even simple passage. I have to admit though I have been focusing a lot on pronunciation so i have devoted myself to listening lots of Polish songs but guess what ? I could not even pronounce 'Edyta' properly..I am not giving up yet. Good luck in your journey to learning Polish :-)
